The machine is located within a barrier wall and is specifically designed to wash polyester and polyester-cotton garments in an aseptic environment. Soiled garments are automatically loaded into the machine, from an overhead bag storage system or conveyor, via a hopper located on top of the machine. Clean garments are unloaded through the main door directly into the clean room. The machine is equipped with a single motor variable speed drive system which may be programmed to suit particularl applications. It is controlled by a B&R industrial PC with Intel Celeron processor, 64 mb ram, compact flash 256 mb. LCDTFT display and modem for trouble-shooting and on-line assistance. Chemtech is the world’s leading supplier of systems for production of margarines, shortenings, bread improvers, bakery ingredients and cocoa/chocolate products. In addition to the well known Chemetator processing equipment, Chemtech designs and builds carton filling machines for "bag-in-box" systems. The custom built Chempac Carton Filler machines have capacities up to 10 tonnes/hr and are usually designed to fill cartons from 5 to 25 kg. Chemetator Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger
The Chemetator is a scraped surface heat exchanger ideal for many applications in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. During operation, the product flows through a jacketed cylinder containing a rotating central shaft on which the scraper blades are mounted. These rotating blades continuously remove the product from the heat transfer tube. The Chemetator is particularly suitable for the continuous processing of high viscosity and heat sensitive materials that cannot be handled efficiently using batch methods or conventional heat exchangers. Increased Efficiency The Chemetator features variable speed rotating scraper blades which clean the heat transfer surface several hundred times a minute. This ensures excellent product mixing and high heat transfer efficiency on a continuous basis. Product mixing can be improved still further with the use of an optional eccentric shaft. Flexibility The Chemetator will handle a wide range of heat sensitive and viscous materials at temperatures from –35ºC to 170ºC and operating pressures up to 120 bar

Dust Collectors
The self-cleaning dry cartridges dust collectors type “FCA” are employed to remove the dust generated during the shot-blasting and sand-blasting operation. The number and type of cartridges ensure a dust concentration in the discharged air far below the limit requested by the law in force. The cartridges are cleaned by periodic impulses of compressed air. The dust is collected by a wheeled box placed underneath the filtering cabin. The blowing impulses are controlled by an electronic panel. Hook type shot-blasting machine - DELTA
The shot-blasting machines type “DELTA” are the most versatile in terms of typical employment and size of the materials to be treated. In fact the customer can choose the size and loading capacity of the machine according to the parts to be shot-blasted. The materials are hanged on the hook, and this is manually or automatically transferred into the blasting room. Once in position, the hook starts to rotate on its axis and move back and forward in front of the turbines (mounted on one side of the machine). These combined movements ensure the complete shot-blasting of the parts external surface.

The tunnel type machine “NTOR” is a continuous shot-blasting unit with a special wear-proof steel wire conveyor. The layout of the machine consists of a tunnel having the blasting room in the middle section. The 4 or 8 turbines are mounted above and below the belt conveyor, and are orientated in a way to ensure the perfect surface covering even for the most complex parts. The final section of the tunnel is provided with a blowing system to remove the shots possibly remaining on the parts. The machine does not require a pit, and is supplied complete with a self-cleaning dry cartridges dust collector.

The tunnel type machine “GAMMA” is a continuous shot-blasting unit with a motorised rolls conveyor, employed for surface treatment of plates, profiles, pipes and steel structures. The number and location of the turbines are optimised to ensure the full coverage of the materials transported by the conveyor. By the frequency inverter for the rolls conveyor driving unit, the operator can choose the best compromise between the production speed and the final result, depending on materials condition before shot-blasting. A blowing and brushing device ensure the shots removal from the surface of the blasted parts. The machine type “GAMMA” can be installed “in-line” with a painting facility. For plates only it is also available the model with the conveyor in vertical position (type “VERT”). The shot-blasting unit is supplied complete with a self-cleaning dry cartridges dust collector.

About Ultraviolet (UV) Light and Water Quality
Confidence in our water -- clean, safe water -- has been increasingly challenged over the past decade. Ten years ago, how many of us had heard of E. coli, Cryptosporidium or Giardia? Today, these waterborne bacteria and parasites are almost as well known as polio, typhoid, and cholera were to a past generation. High-profile, waterborne disease outbreaks in Canada and the United States have made us all aware that water contaminated with microorganisms can cause serious illness and death.
The Challenges
While contaminated water is generally seen as a Third World problem, there is mounting evidence that most industrialized countries have not properly managed their water resources and, as a result, are now facing serious challenges as well. Important aquifers in many parts of the world are at critically low levels because of overuse. Farming and industrial activities are contaminating water resources throughout North America and Europe. Harmful chemicals such as pesticides, NMDA and 2-4 dioxane have entered our water supplies. The European Environmental Agency (EEA) estimates that some 200,000 square kilometres of European territory may be seriously polluted in 50 years if no remedial action is taken. This is a staggering problem since 65 per cent of public drinking water in Europe is drawn from groundwater. Confidence in our ability to protect our water has been further eroded by questions about the effectiveness and safety of traditional chlorine water treatment. Evidence of chlorine-resistant pathogens, and concerns about cancer-causing disinfection by-products resulting from chlorine treatment, have led to new EPA guidelines requiring municipalities in the U.S. to reduce or eliminate their use of chlorine. The UV Solution As governments and regulators around the world move to protect their water, those responsible for its treatment and delivery are looking for solutions. The answer lies in ultraviolet light. UV technology is a proven, cost-efficient, and highly effective way to destroy microorganisms and micropollutants. Increasingly, municipalities and plant operators are turning to UV to ensure the safety and quality of their water - to regain confidence in these supplies. The case for UV A tested and established technology, UV water disinfection has earned the confidence of thousands of municipalities in North America and Europe as a highly effective way to disinfect drinking water, wastewater, and water for industrial processes. Over 2,000 municipal groundwater and surface drinking water installations in Europe, and 1,000 groundwater installations in the United States, rely on UV disinfection. Backed by 60 years of operating experience and sound research, UV is rapidly becoming the technology of choice for wastewater treatment and a critical component of multi-barrier drinking water treatment systems. So what is UV? And why is it a superior solution? Each time we go outside, we are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. Invisible to the eye, you can't see it, but you certainly can feel its burning effects on your skin if you stay out in the sun too long without proper protection. In water treatment applications, specialized lamps are used to produce UV light. As water rushes by these lamps, microorganisms in the water are exposed to a lethal dose of UV energy which destroys their ability to function and reproduce. The process is simple and 99.99 percent effective. The advantages and benefits of UV are numerous. The SUPERCHANGER® heat exchanger is designed to provide maximum efficiency in transferring heat from one liquid to another, or from steam to liquid. The SUPERCHANGER® consists of a series of gasketed, embossed metal plates arranged alternately and bolted together between end frames to form channels through which hot and cold media flow. The hot fluid flows on one side of the plate while the cold fluid flows on the other, with the plate itself providing the most effective means to transfer heat from one fluid to the other. Gaskets mounted on the plates seal the channels and provide flow direction. As liquids flow counter-currently through the channels between the plates, the cold liquid becomes warmer and the hot liquid cooler. The ULTRAMAX® heat exchanger is designed for use with liquids, gases or two-phase mixtures at extreme temperatures to 343°C (650°F) and pressures up to 45 barg (650 psig) for standard range units. Extended range units are available for higher temperature and pressure applications. ULTRAMAX® significantly high “U” values result from the unique turbulence created by the unit’s corrugated plates. The resulting velocity profile eliminates stagnant areas and promotes maximum heat transfer. ULTRAMAX® welded plate heat exchangers provide true countercurrent flow, unlike some competition cross flow units. Countercurrent flow offers full LMTD and allows for 1°C (2°F) temperature approaches. Induced turbulence scours the heat transfer surface during operation, thereby reducing fouling. Copper materials are typified by their high thermal conductivity. They offer advantages over steel plastic moulds have to be cooled strongly or heat has to be dissipated over long distances. Cakes: Swiss roll & layer cake
Sheet cakes processed in a continuous oven can be further processed (after cooling) into slab cakes, layer cakes, Swiss rolls or cake bars. Products are slit into strips and decorated with cream, jam, caramel, marshmallow, chocolate, mousse, etc. via manifold depositors. Then, they can be rolled to Swiss roll, stacked to layer cakes, or continue as a cake bar. After cutting the product to the final length it will be enrobed or wrapped.
Cakes: their batters
Dry matters like sugar and flour are pre-weighed in buffers, and glucose, eggs, water and oils are measured by flow meters into our batter premixer. All ingredients are mixed to a slurry in this premixer. After a pre-set time the ready mix is transferred via a pump to a buffer tank. From there the aerator will continuously draw this unaerated batter. In the aerator the correct amount of air is dosed for a fully controlled final density. This sponge cake like product can now be sheeted, for a layer cake or swiss rolls, on a continuous oven, or deposited into pans for pound cake type products. For Jaffa cakes the product will be deposited with a manifold straight onto the oven belt. Special products like chiffon and cuillere biscuits: the albumen and sugar are separated from the batter mix and separately aerated to a very light density. The highly aerated egg white and the normally aerated remaining slurry are then mixed together in the TFT continuous dry ingredients mixer. There other ingredients, like carrots, raisins, almond powder and sometimes flour, can be gently folded in the base batter.

Added value for all your chocolate products with TFT Tempering & Aeration lines: The injection of gas in a cooled mixing head causes a reorganisation of chocolate crystals. The result is a better temper and heat resistance of the chocolate. TFT has been able to increase Beta-6 crystals in the chocolate during this special tempering process. With praline fillings we achieved a similar reaction. Shelf life and fat migration are improved by this process. A special piston depositor for aerated chocolate with visible bubbles has been designed as an extension to our combined Tempering & Aeration line. It’s big advantage is that your product will only expand áfter depositing, to form beautiful big, visible bubbles in the chocolate work.

For the production of frozen gateaux in a variety of shapes we offer gateaux assembly lines. These lines are always custom built for your particular product and can include the full batter making process: Raw material intake Batter premixing Batter aeration Depositing in pans or sheet depositing in a continuous oven Cutting of cake sheets or cutting of pan baked sponges Our range of complete gateaux assembly lines include: Production of bavarois Production of mousse Production of meringue Production of cream Production of topping Depositing of jams and syrups From a cake sheet, pre-cut discs can be used as a base. From ‘tin-baked’ products the cakes are cut horizontally into sheets. This cake base arrives at our gateaux line, where they are transferred to the finishing line. There, the cake is first welted then filled with a cream or mousse or bavaroise. This filling will be deposited onto the cake; on multiple layer cakes this process is then repeated. Some products can be made in a mould (bavaroise and mousse cakes), while other products are made without mould (flan-like products). The next step in the process is often to go through a blast freezer for a short period, to ‘skin’ the outside. Thus it is prepared for final decoration before it goes.

Marshmallow
New center-in-shell extruder-former for encapsulated marshmallow balls. Tanis Food Tec has recently introduced a new line of equipment for the continuous production of encapsulated marshmallow balls. The equipment principle consists of a continuous extrusion of up to 20 ropes of centre filled mallow. This product is completely dusted with starch and runs into a special forming head, where the mallow is ‘squeezed’ around the centre while the ends are rolled flat. The Tanis Food Tec C.I.S. (centre in shell) extruder – former operates as one machine and produces up to 80.000 pieces per hour. The typical weight of such a product is 2,5 gr for the centre filling and 2,5 gr of marshmallow shell.
Sandwiched biscuits with filling
To make a variety of attractive sandwiches or tartlets, hard rotary moulded, soft wirecut or deposited biscuits & cookies. Bite sizes ranging from 25mm Ǿ to giants of 125 mm in round, square, rectangular or funny shapes. Soft cookies with pectin jelly filling, sponges with marshmallow, extremely soft emulsion creams , tartlets with caramel. Cream process Fat, icing sugar, colour and flavour are mixed together above fat melting point. Therefore no lumb-building and no air inclusion at this point. In the Rotoplus – Temp (aerator – tempering machine) we crystallize and aerate the cream right before depositing. Marshmallow process Water, Sugar, glucose and a gelatine solution are mixed together by weight. The slurry is cooked under pressure to get the correct final moisture content. In the aerator – Temp combi machine this slurry is cooled and aerated to the correct final density and then deposited on the MB&D Cookie Capper. Pectin jelly Water, sugar, glucose and pectin are prepared in the same kitchen as the marshmallow. This jelly product is normally not aerated, but will run straight to the colour, flavour, acid (CFA) mixing system. The pH is measured and automatically adjusted. This product runs straigh
