Buried Detection Systems
The main feature of these types of system is that they are invisible once installed and therefore difficult for an intruder to locate. They can follow the shape and contours of irregular boundaries and are not constrained to "line of sight" applications. This makes them ideal for irregular shaped sites. This means that they do not require a specific physical barrier such as a wall or fence It is essential that they work under many different surfaces such as grass, gravel, asphalt and paving. The main feature of these types of system is that they are simple to install and unobtrusive. They follow the shape and contours of irregular fence lines and are not constrained to "line of sight" applications. This makes them ideal for irregular shaped sites. This means that they do, usually, require a specific physical barrier such as a wall or fence, although the Taut Wire systems can form their own physical barrier It is essential that they work on many different types of structure such as chain link, welded mesh and palisade fencing. The Taut Wire systems must also have a free-standing capability We have different systems available to suit different applications:
FPS - Fibre-optic Cable Detection System
The FPS detection system is based on a fibre optic cable that has the highest level of detection while at the same time has a very low false alarm rate. It is completely immune to electromagnetic interference generated by fast transients of current /voltage or atmospheric phenomena (lightning). The system is particularly suited to deployment in the protection of gas, water and oil pipelines where the main pipe is above ground. The fibre, clipped to the pipe, will detect attempts to drill into or damage the pipe and pass this information back to the processing unit. At least 20km of pipe can be protected in this way using a single fibre. Principle of Operation A mechanical disturbance on the fibre (generated by vibration, pressure or movement) changes the light transmission characteristics of the fibre. The changes are very small but using a very accurate light source (such as obtained with a laser diode) and with a very sophisticated amplification and processing system it is possible to generate a voltage signal that is similar to that generated by a microphonic cable (see the CPS Plus perimeter protection system). The laser diode injects an impulse of coherent light into the optical fibre. This light propagates along the fibre and is reflected from the extreme opposite end of the fibre. An inteferometric analysis between the light transmitted and the light reflected allows the generation of an optical signal that is converted by an opto-electric converter and sent to a processing unit. The processing unit passes the electrical signal to an analogue bus and generates two synchronisation signals: one to the coherent light generator (laser) and one to the zone processing devices. The zone processors operate in a very similar way to the microphonic cable sensor (CPS Plus) and, like these, are compatible with the COM115 bus, used in the latest generation of perimeter sensors, managed by the UCP2000/MX2000 system.

LONGITUDINAL ELECTRO LIFTING MAGNETS These magnets are used to lift bundles of material with an irregular surface, which complicates lifting operations. Longitudinal magnets, however, have a particularly deep penetration field that makes them unsusceptible to such irregularities. This enable safe and effortless transport of bundles of material. Moreover, two or more of these magnets can be used, depending on the length of the bundles. In the event that people are present in the lifting area, however, extra mechanical slings must be fitted for safety purposes.

The cold rolling cassette PKG / DMM-T is used for low and high carbon wires with plain (smooth) surface within a finished diameter range from 0,8 – 3,0 mm. The necessary forces to pull the wire through the cassette is supplied by the drawing machine. The roller bearings are mounted on cooling bolts which are connected to a central water circuit (water cooling). At this type of cassette one roller has a fixed position whereas the second roller is eccentrically adjustable by means of the cooling bolt. For this reason it is not necessary to point the wire because the adjustment range is approx. 1 mm. A simple and precise setting of the rollers is possible due to the graduation at the eccentrically adjustable cooling bolt.

Argo Gantry is a 5-axes machining centre engineered to process elements made out of solid wood, plywood, laminate wood. The large section working area allows to execute different working operations (through holes, carving, milling, cutting, shaping, holes for doors and windows etc) on 5 sides of pieces of any shape and size thus avoiding any handlings from the operator. The head features two rotating axes (A and C axis) controlled by NC, which allow the unit to reach all the possible inclinations in the area. The two rotating movements of the head are interpolated and driven by two precision reducers. The electro-spindle has a power of 16 HP and a maximum speed rotation of 24.000 rpm with liquid cooling system. The tool-magazine is a rotating plate with 12 stations placed at side of the operating head. The table is divided into working areas in order to enable the operator to load and unload pieces with a no-stop cycle. On request, the pieces can be fixed through a vacuum system, blower pumps and/or special customized clamps. The “open” structure allows an easy loading/unloading of large element by means of loading conveyor or gantry crane.

The machine has been engineered to perform working operations on mitered doors, frames and cabinet doors. SPIRIT is equipped with two independent units: one for cutting, boring and mortising, and the second one for tenoning. The machine is divided into two working areas that allow to work no-stop with safe and simple loading/unloading handlings. Each area is equipped with a working table, a 45° fence complete with a digital read-out (visualisation in mm and inches) and clamp. Moreover, the standard equipment of the machine includes mechanical read-outs for table adjustment, saw-blade for end-cutting and tenoning head. The wish of operators and technologists in the wood-based panel industry to scan the raw density profile online during the running production has been regarded as impractical for many years. By means of the GreCon Inline Raw Density Profile Measuring System StenOgraph, it is possible for the first time to scan the raw density profile, as one of the most important criteria of the quality of particle board and fibreboard, online after continuous presses. This enables the operator to influence the raw density profile and thus the features of MDF and particle board during the production process. Shorter running-in times of new production plants and during product changes as well as an optimised production process lead to substantial savings in cost and material while the panel quality is improved.
Mat Scanner with Recognition of Foreign Bodies
Uneven material distribution, glue lumps, superdense fibre lumps and other foreign bodies within fibre, chip or OSB mats can cause material accumulations of high density which cannot be compressed to the adjusted panel thickness by the press. Such superdense zones may cause irreversible damage to the steel belts of continuous presses, especially when producing thin panels. In cooperation with the press manufacturer Dieffenbacher, GreCon developed the so-called DIEFFENSOR, which is able to detect all metallic and non-metallic foreign bodies of high density in fibre, chip or OSB mats, such as glue lumps, superdense fibre lumps or plastic and aluminium parts, which are not identified by usual metal detectors or magnets. With the DIEFFENSOR, the steel belts of continuous presses can be, for the first time, effectively protected against permanent damage through non-metallic foreign bodies of high density.

Spark Extinguishing System BS 7
Filters may burn or even explode because of sparks within exhaust ducts. GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems are designed to prevent this. They detect small sparks within the ducts and extinguish them in a split second. Spark sensors detect the infrared radiation of glowing particles. Immediately, a dense water mist spray which extinguishes passing sparks is created in a specified distance downstream from the spark sensors. The production process can continue without interruption during the whole procedure. Fire insurance companies have noticed the minimised risk when installing spark extinguishing systems and may grant discounts on insurance premium rates of up to 15 %. The regulations of the German Association of Property Insurers (Richtlinien der VdS Schadensverhütung), form 2106, specifically stipulate all requirements on spark extinguishing systems. Precondition for achieving discounts on premium rates is the use of an extinguishment system that is approved by this association. Spark extinguishing systems are amongst the most efficient fire protection systems as a result of their highly-developed technique and their reliability. The use of these systems for various applications is even prescribed by the employer's liability insurance associations and by national factory inspectorates. The German Association of Property Insurers (Verband der Schadenversicherer e.V.), Cologne, have published recommendations on premium rate discounts. All these factors, i.e. discounts on premium rates and technical innovations, help to justify the investment required. Where do Spark Streams appear? Spark streams are a very common danger. They cannot be easily detected and this means they are existing but not known! Consequently attention is paid to a spark stream only when it is too late, namely when there has been an explosion or a fire. When working combustible materials sparks are created very quickly. A dull tool, a damaged bearing in the fan, an overheated motor or a foreign body within the material can be the cause. This is a constant danger for all those factories where combustible materials are being worked, exhausted, transported, filtered or dried. The damage statistics provided by the insurance companies point out that filters, dust collection bins, silos and even complete production lines are the areas of plant at greatest risk. Foreign bodies in the conveyed material, defective parts of the production machinery, friction processes as well as electric sparks and self-ignition are all identified as fire-generating. 3 or 4 roll bending machines

4 column-type presses
The column design is characterized by the fact that the crown and the bed are connected to each other and clamped by means of four columns. A main advantage of this design is the easy accessibility to the press and the die space area from all four sides. 4-Column-type presses are standardized for closing-forces of 1,000 , 1,500 ,1,700 and 2,000, 3,500 and 5,000 metric tons.
Continuous root tacking presses
The main task of the continuous root tacking presses is to close the groove that remains after bending the pipes as a preparation for later welding processes. By means of a combination of several hydraulically operated press rolls the pipe edges are pressed together at the groove. At this groove a tack-welding will be carried out. After this, the pipe can be finished inside and outside by means of welding at other workstations.
Frame presses
The crown of the frame press is supported by solid side columns. This type of press is particularly suited for the production of large quantities of a limited scope of products (T-parts, reducers).

The hydroforming process as a generic term covers different hydroforming processes such as internal high pressure forming, hydromechanical deep-drawing as well as the hydrostatic deep-drawing. By means of hydromechanical or hydrostatic deep drawing, metal sheets can be given complex shapes which can either not be reached at all with the conventional deep drawing processes or could only be reached at extraordinarily high expenses
pipe forming presses
When forming metal sheets into pipes the pipe forming presses are an alternative to the roll bending machines. The pipe bending process is based on a hydraulically driven bending tool. By means of this bending tool the metal sheet is pressed down between two bending support units. Then the metal sheet is gradually moved through the press until it has reached the desired form
Post bending presses
If the metal sheet has not been pre-bent before the forming and bending process, there will still be straight ends at the longitudinal edges after the bending. By means of post bending rollers (in case of post bending roller machines) these straight edges are brought into an even shape. In case of post bending presses these edges are rounded gradually (by moving step by step through the machine in a tool).
Pre-bending presses
Pre-bending presses pre-bend the straight plate edges in the area of the longitudinal edges. By means of the pre-bending presses an even rounding of the pipe can be achieved.

Decanter
Decanters provide the benefits of high clarifying efficiency and maximum dewatering as well as the separation of liquids with the simultaneous removal of solids. The main requirements in this respect include a high bowl speed, a powerful drive for the scroll and a scroll speed which automatically adapts to the solids loading in the feed. Due to its versatility and the technological know-how of Westfalia Separator, the decanter can be used for a wide range of process tasks; from clarification through separation, classification, concentration and washing right up to extraction: Clarifying decanters are used to separate solids out of a suspension to obtain a virtually solids-free, clarified liquid. Dewatering decanters ensure maximum concentration of the solids to get them as dry as possible. Separating decanters separate two chemically immiscible liquids with simultaneous separation of the solids. Classifying decanters split the solids mixture of the suspension into a fine (small particles) and a coarse (large particles) fraction.
