Contact systems
In order to supply you with the optimum contact for your product range, we have developed a number of standard solutions. Cable pear contact with plastic plain bearing Cable contacts are the most cost-effective and cmmonly used type of contact. They are particularly suitable for ompact bulk material and therefore cover a wide range of applications. Disc contact with metal plain bearing Disc contacts are particularly suitable for high current transfer. They can be used for bulky, compact and sharp-edged materials and for sensitive goods which could be damaged by fixed contacts. Strip contact with metal plain bearing Strip contacts are placed in the drum corner bars and transmit the current evenly from the liquid-tight metal plain bearing through the contact discs to the entire internal length of the drum. In doing so, the inside of the drum remains smooth. With strip contacts, a wide range of products can be galvanised. This type of contact is particularly suitable for rod products.

Calendering, pressing, mixing and smoothening for these manufacturing processes, precision rolls are used in order to guarantee that the final products have the optimum properties. Coating and Doctor Rolls
Coating, painting, impregnating of materials in continuous runs such as paper, cardboard, plastics and metal foils, textile fabrics and non-wovens, this is the range of application for our rolls. Heat Transfer and Chill Rolls
Heating and cooling. The production of paper, foils, plastics, rubber etc. in continuous runs usually requires thermal treatment of the material during the production process. Whether during manufacture, converting or processing, a correct roll temperature with least tolerance is vital. In order to guarantee constant product quality and properties, the standards set for both heat transfer and chill rolls are extremely high. With regard to planning and design, we place our trust in our in-house research department. Thermodynamic simulation and calculation is made, on the basis of which design engineers develop individual solutions. This enables us to design and to manufacture heat transfer and chill rolls which are characterised by an extremely uniform distribution of temperature on their surface. Easy installation taking just 1/2 an hour on the first installation and can be re-installed only 10 minutes. Fixtures and fittings can be changed as quickly as 15 seconds.For regular jobs the tools can be left set in machine so this job could be reset in less than 1 minute. Longer running jobs could be set up at less labour intense periods i.e. evening shift, weekend or if an operator goes sick the machine could be kept productive for virtually the whole shift. Running costs Based on an Ingersoll rand uni-10-115 7.5 kW compressor capable of 42 cfm which would cost 30p an hour run our unit uses 2cfm and would cost less than 2p an hour to run continuous. We actually have a fixture demo unit which runs perfectly off a £70 screwfix compressor. Vacuum Chuck The vacuum chuck works on the same principle as the pallet changer. Clamping systems

Hogging
One of the most important tasks in panel processing is sizing. Untreated or pre-sized panels are cut accurate to size and shape. This often influences the quality of the final product. The extensive range of Leitz hoggers includes cutter, segment, compact, TurboWing and folding hoggers with tungsten carbide or polycrystalline diamond cutting edges for efficient processing of various types of materials on all types of machines.

Manually operated bending rollers with centerless ground rolls dia. 25 to 45 mm, which are asymmetrically placed. The sides of the machine are produced from solid aluminium and anodised. The stand is made from steel chanel. The setting of the bottom and bending rolls is carried out by means of handwheels. The bending roll can also be set diagonally for cone bending. The top roll can easily be swung out for the removal of finished workpieces.
MBC 8268 CNC
The MBC 8268 rolls are designed to meet the requirements for longer CNC rolls for tight radius bending. The machine is designed with a welded steel frame and cast guides. The design with three rolls mounted independently in separate guides enables high productivity and easy adjustment of the rolls. These functions as prebending, bottom and bending rolls. The top roll is mounted above the middle roll e.g. a four-roll machine with symmetrically placed rolls. In order to control the bending result over the working length, the machine can be equipped with hydraulic crowning supports for the lower roll. This is carried out by three support blocks with four pressure bearings. The crowning is adjusted with a hand pump. All four rolls are driven in order to prevent scratches on easily damaged sheets from slipping rolls. The movement of the three lower rolls is carried out by lead screws. The four-roll system eliminates the need for any intermediate handling of the sheet between pre-bending and the final bending. This ensures high repetition accuracy as well as a rapid and rational production. When the bending is finished the lock clamp on the right hand side opens to allow removal of the pent part. This function can be eliminated in the program if not required.

A fully automatic unpiling installation. Copper electrodes are lifted and supplied by means of a tipping mechanism. Remarkable is the feature which allows to process piles of relatively bad quality and extremely rough surfaces. Besides, it does not matter, whether the electrodes are longitudinal or radially corrugated, folded or smooth. The installation works in a three-shift work and is located at the feed of raw materials of a manufacturing chain. Already during the planing phase of this installation, the operational safety was of course taken into consideration.
Pile storage
Fully automatic piling system for the sorting and unloading of a manufacturing chain of steel panels to four shipment terminals. A special feature is the variance of tapes-widths from 700 to 3,800 mm (~27.3 to 148.2 in.) and thicknesses starting at 4 mm (~ .16 in.). The processable length of the tapes starts at 1,200 mm (~ 47in.) and reaches to 21,000 mm (~820 in.). The maximum weight of the plates is 15,000 kg (~33,000 lbs.). The system is designed for working in a three-shift work at the end of a manufacturing chain. On account of the intensly automated production process, it was given great importance to the reliability and a nearly maintenance-free operation.
Plate deloader
A fully automatic lifting and storing installation to unload a manufacturing chain to several shipment terminals. A special feature of this installation is the variance of tape-widths going from 700 to 3,400 mm (~27 to 132 in.) and thicknesses starting at 4 mm (~ .16 in.). The processable length of the tapes starts at 1,200 mm (~47 in.) and reaches up to 17,000 mm (~663 in.). Also asymmetrical and parallel lifting are possible. The maximum weight of the tapes is 6,000 kg (~13,200 lbs.). The tapes are flooded with water. The vacuum system is designed in a way that manual drainage is unnecessary. The installation is designed for running in a three-shift work at the end of a manufacturing chain. On account of the intensively automated process, great importance was put on the reliability and the nearly maintenance-free operation.

Measurement principle: The measurement principle of the ACCURA gauges is optical triangulation. The principle is based on a laser light that is emitted on an object in a predefined measuement range. The detector used, is a CCD array, which consists of light sensitive cells (pixels). When the light causes a reflection o the measurement object, some pixels on the CCD array are activated via a lens system. Depending on which pixels are activated the distance to the object can be calculated. By software the resolution in the calculated distance value is 1/8 of a pixel. The laser distance-meter LMC-J-0310 is robustly engineered especially for industrial applications. It works at distances up to 3000 m. Up to 300m and more (depending on target reflectivity) no special reflector is needed. Measuring values are provided continuously via the integrated RS422/RS232 or analogue 4..20 mA interfaces. As option, ProfiBus and SSI interface is available. In this way the device is providing position and velocity information during the production process. The LMC-J-0310 can be used in distance and speed measurement mode. All measuring parameters are adjustable. The high measuring speed allows the distance measurement of extremely fast moving objects. The operation principle of the LMC-J-0310 is time delay measurement, the measuring time is adjustable between 0,5 and 1000 ms (a special version with 0,1ms is also available). Within a fraction of second one distance measurement is obtained by means of several hundreds or thousands of individual measures.
LMC-M-M2D-LASER for Profile-Contour Scanning
Method of operation The Scanner M2D provides 2-dimensional measuring of profile heights. The measured objects may consist of various materials. A laser line is projected onto the target and the distance to several points of the object is measured by triangulation. The Scanner is suitable for the geometric profile recognition and distance measurement. The height (Z-axis) by distance (X-axis) is measured. The result is the contour of the object at the point of measurement. Every 20 ms a complete scan of 283 points of measurement, or every 40 ms a scan with 566 points of measurement is done. The measurement range works from 5...1200 mm (X-axis) and 8...600mm(Z-axis). Please see overview chapter 10.1 “Scanner datasM2D/ M2D-W”.

Mobile or Stationary Many of our customers have stationary Logosol sawmills, but one of the advantages with the sawmill is that you can take it to the place where the timber is, e.g. to the forest or to your cottage. Once you have done that, all that is left for you is to fell a tree and then process it into boards, planks and beams. Impressive Precision The accuracy of our sawmill is very impressive. You can saw whatever you wish, from beams for log frame structures, to millimetre thin sheets. The Logosol Sawmill can process logs from any tree you will fi nd in a forest or in a garden: oak, aspen, apple-tree, cherry-tree, and so on. The sawmill is easily handled by one man. You are only limited by your imagination. Professional Results at Once Logs are rolled onto the mill from a log table with the working height of 55 cm. They are then lifted up to saw height with a turn of the hand-operated crank. The sawed boards lie accessible at waist height and are easy to lift off. Hence the Logosol Sawmill not only saves your time, but also spares your back. The saw carriage slides effortlessly along a stable guide rail. Visible and audible gradations permit the adjusting of the sawmill’s settings to be both easy and accurate. All instructions can be read in the manual that comes with each sawmill. The Logosol Sawmill is made from anodized aluminium, which is resistant to corrosion, is lightweight, and yet very durable. The smooth surface of the guide rail has a low friction coeffi cient, is easy to clean, and requires minimal maintenance service. Logosol utilizes a thinner guide bar and chain, which contributes to signifi cantly faster sawing. The result of using the thinner guide bar and chain is that the cut taken is only insignifi cantly wider than the one taken by a circular saw. One sharp chain saws approximately fi ve normal sized logs before it needs to be re-sharpened. High Production Capacity The Logosol Sawmill is run with an ordinary power saw of a minimum capacity of 60 cc. The typical saw unit is a Stihl MS660 92 cc or a Husqvarna 385XP 85 cc. With such an equipment you can saw 5 metres per minute from a 6 inch thick beam. The powerful electric saws Logosol E5000 and E6000 nearly double the speed. If you use the Logosol Bandsaw you can even saw 16 metres per minute. But technical data is one thing, working in practice is another. The logs shall not only be sawed up, but also be stacked, new logs need to be rolled to the saw and, above all, you will need a coffee break now and then. Our customers say that one operator alone can produce between two and three cubic metres sawed lumber in one working day – and we believe them!

Logosol SH230 – a Must for every Carpenter and Craftsman. THE SOLOPLANER SHOULD STAND in the shop of every sawmill owner and carpenter. It is a versatile machine which squares, rips and profiles. When you have got used to the high capacity and the possibilities of the machine, the Soloplaner will be indispensable. The Soloplaner planes the board and cuts it in the right width in one single operation. What enables this, is the 230 mm wide cutter with a circular saw positioned immediately next to it. The cutter and the circular saw rotate at a speed of 6000 rpm, which gives a quality result both on the planed and the sawn surfaces. In Logosol’s Moulding Knives Catalogue you can look at several examples of profiles you can produce. The profile knives can be utilized at the same time as the planer knives and the circular saw. With the Soloplaner you can produce notch and groove on up to 5 cm wide panels. If you want to have wider dimensions you make a so-called overlapping half-tongue. Planing and Squaring The most common application of the Soloplaner is to plane and square boards. The board gets the right width and gets planed simultaneously. If you want to process all four sides, you just run the board twice through the machine. Height and width adjustments are made in two simple operations.

Bulk Labeling
Logopak’s bulk labeling system is an intelligent bar code labeling system for product identification of unevenly shaped products, such as sacks, in industrial applications. Our machines' compact modular design and sturdy construction are impressive. Enclosures with trap doors can be provided to protect the systems from dust in the environment. The integrated print engine with a print width of 8.5” (216 mm) can be used for real-time direct thermal and thermal transfer printing. It also allows serial labeling of consistently sized products. In addition, the system is equipped with a telescopic arm applicator with a stroke length of up to 20” (500mm). This makes it ideal for use with products with varying heights. The arm is combined with a hinged vacuum pad to hold the label and a roll-on device for continuous labeling applications. For use in the paper industry where labels are applied to rolls varying from 16” to 60” (406 mm to 1,524 mm), the system utilizes a telescopic arm with hinged applicator. For cylindrical objects such as kegs, casks or steel bottles, Logopak has developed a very special system that applies labels to the top of the unit between the valve and the edge of the cylinder. These systems are intended specifically for operation in modern breweries. Thermal transfer bar code labels are printed real-time and applied to the top of the object while the object is standing still or in motion. By using the product arrestor and a laser scanner for checking the barcode, the system ensures that no unit leaves the filling station without a perfect label. Enclosures can be provided which have trap doors to protect the systems from leaking units when the system is not applying labels.

Label Printing
In some applications, a label printer is all that is needed. For example, a pallet label printer applicator installation can utilize a label printer when the automatic label printer applicator is off-line during maintenance. The Logopak VLP 210 is an intelligent printing system using barcode technology for product labeling. The VLP 210 excels through its sturdy mechanical construction designed for 24-hour continuous operation. It is equipped with print heads that deliver 8 or 12 dot print resolution (200 or 300 dpi). These print heads are extremely service-friendly thanks to the Logopak quick-change system -- and they require no readjustment when installed. Each printer can be driven either externally via a serial data connection or on its own via the integrated intelligence. They are designed for use in preparing label formats and as a back-up system to automatic large format label printer applicators. For the production of labels with embedded RFID tags, an RFID tag programmer can be supplied. An RFID Starter Kit is available for those who are starting RFID tagging programs but are not yet ready for automated equipment, such as in a “slap and ship” operation.

With its integrated machine control circuitry and communications ports, a Logopak mail order labeling system can quickly receive data and print and apply labels real-time at normal operational speeds. The TBH applicator system was designed primarily with mail order applications in mind, for both original shipment and returns handling. The labels are blown onto the top side of the trading unit by means of a telescopic applicator. The variable heights of the products are determined and the arm is extended the appropriate length to blow the label on. This can be done at speeds of up to 40 packages per minute. Machines are often supplied with sturdy enclosures to allow them to resist the rigors of harsh environments. For faster lines, larger off-winds for labels and thermal transfer ribbon are available, with the label stock and thermal transfer ribbon supplied in matching lengths.
