The A314E/A324E-L Wire Feed System represents a new generation of wire feeder for welding robots and is based upon a basic solution that has been well proven. The special feature of these wire feed systems is their very wide wire feed speed range, from 0.5m/min to 30 m/min. This wire feed speed range is extended compared to previous version.
The high resolution, low wire feed speed capability gives optimum performance during arc starts and excellent arc characteristics when welding with low wire feed speeds. The high wire feed speed performance during high speed welding is also enhanced all the way up to 30 m/min. This performance is achieved through the use of an advanced precision control system.
This Wire Feed System is predominantly used for Mild Steel & Stainless Steel welding.

Rack and pinion actuators
Wherever liquids, gases or vapours are conducted through pipelines there are valves and fittings, which must be actuated or moved.
Rack and pinion actuators are essential components of an actuator system consisting of valves and fittings, directional control valves or positioners and end position monitors. These units are inter-connected via standardised interfaces. From the process control system, from programmable controls or from other control devices, positioning signals are transmitted to the rack and pinion actuators via directional control valves or positioners. The rack and pinion actuators then mechanically translate the signals into rotary motion, which actuates the valves and fittings.
Thanks to their compact design and high performance our rack and pinion actuators are preferably used for automation of ball valves, plug valves, butterfly valves and control valves.

Anson Fills Demand For Biodegradable Sandwich Packs
Anson, the leading supplier of plastic food packaging, is first in the field to introduce the use of an environmentally-friendly material - PLA (polylactive acrylic) - for its popular sandwich wedge range.
In line with its environmental policy as a responsible supplier, and driven by customer demand, Anson has been undertaking trials on different polymers as alternatives to existing oil-based versions. The new biodegradable wedges are made from PLA, a polymer produced from lactic acid that derives from dextrose obtained from corn starch.
The initiative is already receiving widespread market interest, with food packaging provider Tri-Star, trialling the PLA sandwich wedges for its customer Daily Bread which supplies 85 million sandwiches, 364 days of the year.
Andrew Osborne-Smith, Anson Managing Director said: As a company, we are very conscious of the need to develop packaging from renewable sources and believe that PLA is an excellent alternative, helping us to achieve this.
We have devoted a great deal of resource to developing it and are now focusing on further projects to use it in a wider range of products such as salad packs and dessert bowls in the near future.
The new material is strong, lightweight and, in the right conditions, will biodegrade in just weeks. PLA fulfils all the criteria for sustainability, as being made from maize, it is a natural source that is renewed annually.
It is envisaged that Anson will fully launch the PLA range of products late 2006.

Inside their Nonwoven-Products Division, the J.W. Suominen Group produces high-quality fabrics for hygiene and cleaning purposes in the medical and healthcare fields. Other divisions produce packaging material as well as filling and insulating materials for industrial applications.
In a joint project for Suominen’s Nonwoven-Products Division, APE Engineering has been co-operating with SRK Engineering GmbH,Großostheim and developed a compact spinning plant for the production of hygiene fleece on a poly-propylene basis. SRK Engineering was in charge of all machinery and production components, whereas APE Engineering did automate the whole production process.
APE Engineering also manufactured and delivered the switchgear rack, all of the automation components required, as well as the SCADA system.
APE Engineering also developed the visualization (system for all the subsequent steps in the production process and integrated the respective automation components.

In this project, APE Engineering has been in charge of developing and installing a SCADA system for a newly constructed spunbound plant.
All the production and machinery components involved in the production process, from the raw material all the way to finished fleece, have been integrated into the system. Other tasks completed by APE Engineering included analyzing and documenting the interfaces and other components as well as dealing with sub-contractors.
SRK Engineering provided the spinning system for the spunbound plant, whereas APE delivered the complete automation technology (including 36 meters of switchgear rack).

Each individual sanding segment around periphery of the sanding tool makes continual contact with surface of the wood at an optimum clearance angle, so gliding gently without vibrations into the sanding process. The successful outcome: a surface finish devoid of chatter marks and shadows.
A long abrasive service life is just one of the outstanding properties of the PLATINUM Line. Provided the set chip removal rates are suitable for the size of abrasive grain used, and the tolerance between the shaped contour and the profile measurements of the sanding tool lie with +/-0.1 mm, each abrasive backing with a diameter range of 120 mm and higher is capable of achieving a life of between 5.000 and over 8.000 running metres.
The coordination of sanding tool profile and prescribed shaping profile is not determined solely by a profiled wood sample, but primarily unambiguously contractually agreed on the basis of a graphic file generated using CAD technology (.dwg or .dxf format).
To guarantee and monitor profile agreement, every supplied tool comes with a template. This enables profile deviations of 0.1 mm and over to be simply discovered. For each ARMINIUS® PLATINUM Line sanding tool and all of its components such as sanding segments and base profile elements, a profile guarantee of +/- 0.05 mm is applicable.
Standard procedure in approaching any delivery is a careful preparation of the profile documentation. For ARMINIUS® and its sales partners, close communication with the shaping tool manufacturers is paramount. Without it, professional order completion, troublefree commissioning and servicing subsequent to delivery would be impossible to imagine. The ARMINIUS® sales consultants provide important information and a binding assessment in the design of the shaping tools, in particular as regards coordination of the CAD documentation. Electronic data carriers and data transmission are indispensable tools here.
In cooperation with the shaping tool manufacturer, this allows us to take care of coordinating all the important details for the customer and user.
If profile sanding forms an important final stage in the processing sequence of an automatic machine such as an end tenoner or processing centre, the possibility of using ARMINIUS® PLATINUM Line: yes or no is well worth considering, as it offers ideal underlying conditions for a compact and economical solution: Compared to belt sanding it offers unbeatable space savings as well as involving less input in mechanical engineering terms. It is a rotating tool system.
At a comparable level of expense, ARMINIUS® PLATINUM Line offers substantially better sanding qualities, as the minimal space requirement means that a normal sanding process sequence can be realistically produced with two or three grain size graduations. Because of the minimal time required for profile or abrasive changeover (around 1 minute per tool) and the considerably longer service life of the abrasive compared to belt sanding, this degree of quality convenience is now no longer a Utopian dream, but an achievable reality.

The unique sanding tool to accommodate a wide range of standard profiles: SmartLine now comes as a new development with additional facility for mounting non-standard profiles.
A catalogue containing more than 2000 non-standard shapes lists already existing profile shapes using Green-Line abrasives which can be mounted on SmartLine. For a modest additional charge, we can supply the relevant templates and CAD datafile to allow troublefree shaping tool production.
