Die and Mold Milling Tools

In connection with flexible special machines MAPAL’s profile milling tools allow the machining of hardened tool piece profiles in various shapes (round, elliptic or gotic) with the highest accuracy. The advantages of these milling tools is a high dimensional and profile accuracy as well as projectable tool lives and running times. Furthermore, the tool pieces can be finished on the machine, which reduces the manual rework substantially.

Face Milling Heads

These tools stand out due to their simple, robust design, their excellent milling performance and quality, as well as due to their high efficiency. They are suited for high cutting speeds and feeds (HSC). The low weight and the few parts mounted simplify the handling. At the center of the milling head are high-precise PCD inserts which can be adjusted very simply and rapidly.

ISO Milling tools

In addition to special milling cutters with mainly tangential inserts, MAPAL offers a programme consisting of standard facing cutters and angular milling cutters, shell end mills and disk milling cutters. An outstanding characteristic of tangential inserts is their geometry: the high-positive cutting angle consequentially gives a soft cut. The tool can be equipped with substantially more tangential inserts than with traditional ISO inserts and the stability of the body is still the same or even higher. This means a higher cutting performance and a lower machine load.

PCD High Performance Drilling Tools

PCD equipped tools prove their efficiency especially for high-speed cutting applications. This cutting material usually demands high rpm, which means that the machining times are reduced substantially. Compared to the common solid carbide drilling tools very high tool lives are achieved due to the hardness of PCD tools. Further advantages are excellent surface qualities, high cutting volume, and high thermal conductivity.
