In 1909, Heinrich Vollmer developed the first design for saw setting and filing machines. His vision was to ensure the maximum possible sharpness of cutting tools and saw blades, a vision we have pursued for a hundred years with energy, ideas, innovations and exeptional know-how.

Today, the VOLLMER Group of Companies has evolves as specialists in the processing of tools in respect of both production and services. Our product range embraces the latest sharpening and eroding machines for saw blades and tools used in the wood and metal processing industries.

VOLLMER Group employs 700 staff worldwide.

The Group’s headquarters in Biberach/Ri� in South Germany form the competence centre for the design and development of our products. Other production sites are located in Dornhan and M�rlenbach/Germany, Dinan/France and Taicang/China.

With 9 branches and over 30 agencies, the company works closely with customers at local level, thus ensuring the same high standard of consulting and customer care world-wide.

1909
Heinrich Vollmer developed the first patentable saw blade swaging and filing machine back in 1909. The product range grew over the next few years to include other machines for improving saw blade precision. Export markets then developed to become supporting pillars of the company.

1952
VOLLMER began in 1952 to develop a special sharpening machine range to address the requirements for the increasingly popular carbide-tipped circular saw blade. Driven by a series of new and further developments, this business division grew over the coming decades to assume overriding importance in the company.

1988
VOLLMER develops an innovative range of machines for eroding diamond-tipped tools for the wood processing industry. As well as ensuring the continuous reinforcement of R & D capacities, this investment seeks to achieve growth through higher technology.

1998
VOLLMER presents a new wire erosion machine and uses this new technology to expand into the metal processing industry.

2003
VOLLMER expands its world-wide service component and develops from a simple machine production company to a modern, innovative technology and service provider.

2006
VOLLMER extends the sales partnership existing since 1994 with Loroch GmbH in M�rlenbach to include the development and production of sharpening machines for HSS circular saw blades. This move completes VOLLMER’s wide range of saw machining products for both the wood and metal processing industry.
