Group Material Technology
includes independently operating subsidiaries of the heat treatment and surface technology. Together, we form an extensive network of many demands on the processing of materials and components. Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the sites, we are now Europe's leading supplier of functional procedures. Our goal is to continue expanding our network in Europe.
The range of standard procedure is completed in most works by special procedures. We use a specially developed quality and process management system. Through consistent implementation of relevant European and national guidelines, we are of our environmental responsibilities. Each year we refine to the highest level of more than 200,000 different components with a total number of over 500 million parts of various industries: machinery, automotive, electronics, electrical engineering, aerospace, medical technology, to name a few.
In order to produce any special demand, we work closely with our customers and consider it even the highest demands as a challenge that we gladly. In this way we optimize existing processes and applications and continuously develop new options in materials in heat treatment and surface technology.

| Flat spray unit GLISS-COAT® stands for a range of dry lubricant coatings. These coatings are designed to reduce friction and wear and are well-suited for the coating of metals, light metals, plastic and many other materials.
GLISS-COAT® coating materials are water-soluble and can be applied in various ways. They are completely free of heavy metals. The flow behavior of the coatings is designed so that there is no troublesome edge build-up or drop formation along the edges and borings. The processes are fine-tuned on the basis of the shape and number of substrates, the properties of the liquid coating material, e.g. single or multi-component systems and the requirements expected from the coating once it is finished. Single parts are coated with automated surface spray units, while smaller mass-produced parts, for instance, are treated in special barrel-plating devices.
The drying process is carried out during the plating. At temperatures below 100°C the single parts need to be left scattered to ensure a uniform heat impact on each workpiece. This develops the required layer properties such as optimal hardness, corrosion resistance and lubrication. |
| NITAI NITAI® is the collective name for all of AIMT's nitriding and nitrocarburising processes. Nitriding is a thermochemical process for the functional coating of steel, cast and sintered materials.
The nitriding process is based on the diffusion of nitrogen. The workpiece is placed in an atmosphere containing nitrogen at a temperature ranging between 480 and 580°C. Nitrogen atoms from the nitriding medium diffuse into the workpiece's surface and alter the workpiece's chemical composition and the surface layer's structure.
