The company GSG GmbH was founded 1973 in Hohenlimburg / Northrhine – Westfalia by Heinz Grossheider, Egon Stoltenhoff and Wilfried Gasse. In the beginning they manufactured machines and accessories to produce constructional steel. At this time the export share amounted already to 40%.
1976 Egon Stoltenhoff retired. A steady development and expansion of the product range also for other kind of wires, like cold headed wire, was the reason to increase the number of employees and to move to a larger site in Schwerte / Northrhine-Westfalia.
At this time approx. 20 people were employed. At the same time the export share of the turnover grew continuously.
The innovative expansion of the product range, especially with regard to the mechanical descaling and coating of wire rod, as well as to the cold rolling technology was the reason for a new and bigger building on a larger site in Schwerte – Westhofen / Northrhine Westfalia.
GSG GmbH was taken over on July 1, 2000 by Wafios AG (51%) and Ernst Koch GmbH & Co. KG (49%). End of 2000 Wilfried Gasse retired.
Today the export share amounts to approx. 60% with actually 40 employees
 | Cold rolling cassettesc The cold rolling cassette PKG / DMM-T is used for low and high carbon wires with plain (smooth) surface within a finished diameter range from 0,8 – 3,0 mm. The necessary forces to pull the wire through the cassette is supplied by the drawing machine.
The roller bearings are mounted on cooling bolts which are connected to a central water circuit (water cooling). At this type of cassette one roller has a fixed position whereas the second roller is eccentrically adjustable by means of the cooling bolt.
For this reason it is not necessary to point the wire because the adjustment range is approx. 1 mm. A simple and precise setting of the rollers is possible due to the graduation at the eccentrically adjustable cooling bolt.
