AQUILA (symbol AQ), a leading player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distribution sector from Romania and the region, has successfully acquired KITAX Kft, one of Hungary’s top five distribution companies with nationwide coverage. With over 30 years of industry experience, AQUILA is furthering its regional expansion by entering the Hungarian market through this strategic transaction.

The final purchase price was determined based on an agreed mechanism that factored in working capital adjustments and net financial debt. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in AQUILA’s growth strategy and was finalized after all suspensive conditions stipulated in the contract were met.

The preliminary agreement for the acquisition was signed in December 2024 and was subject to approval by AQUILA’s General Meeting of Shareholders on January 21, 2025, as well as the Committee for the Examination of Foreign Direct Investments in the neighboring country.
