Hungary’s automotive industry continues its rapid growth as Japanese electronics company Alpine announces a substantial investment of nearly €55 million at its Biatorbágy facility. This strategic move will significantly expand Alpine’s capacity to manufacture advanced automotive electronics components, while also creating 100 new jobs and driving long-term economic growth in Hungary.
With a legacy spanning nearly 80 years and a global workforce of around 30,000, Alpine is a trusted name in the production of semiconductors, sensors, Wi-Fi devices, sensor modules, and other high-tech electronics. The company operates production sites across Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia. Amid fierce internal competition for this investment, Hungary emerged as the clear winner, underscoring the country’s growing reputation as a prime location for automotive innovation.
Since establishing its operations in Hungary in 1998, Alpine has steadily expanded its presence. The new investment in Biatorbágy will not only enhance production capabilities but also incorporate critical energy upgrades for sustainability. The facility will soon benefit from the installation of a solar farm and heat pumps, reducing energy dependency and aligning with the green transition goals of the automotive sector.
This investment reflects Alpine’s commitment to leading-edge vehicle electronics technologies—a key driver in the digital transformation of the automotive industry—and further solidifies Hungary’s position as a hub for industrial innovation.
