Patents are a yardstick
Patents are an expression of the innovative ability of a company and form the basis for its economic success. At M�llers countless German, European and non-European patents as well as US patents accompany the emergence of the product range which has given us worldwide recognition.
Bag loading machines were the first product group for which we protected the market success with patents. The development route of Palletizers to become automatic high-efficiency machines was also guarded by M�llers patents, as was that of the M�llers autoloader which loads trucks automatically with bags, or that of the Romeo� robot.
The palletless despatch unit using the M�llers revers hood shrinkwrapping system, is protected by patents and was one of the creative innovations which secured our position in the market.
The pioneering role of M�llers in pallet shrinkwrapping and stretch-wrapping technology is documented by numerous patents (for instance: the non-contact hood positioning system, the palletless despatch unit, the stretch hooder with its many variants).
New market demands will continue to lead to new solutions at M�llers, for which we will obtain patents - not only to protect our intellectual property but also as an external sign of our undiminished technical and economic innovative capabilities.
Global presence
The M�llers Group with its trailblazing technology has become a global player. This points the way for the future and gives notice of challenges. Worldwide business activities require not only global competency but also local presence. The need must first be recognized before a service can be provided for a customer; this requires customer relations.
The recognition that optimum customer relations in distant markets may also require production in distant countries was followed by the formation of M�llers Sulamericana Sao Paulo, Brasil and M�llers North America Inc. We consolidated our position in the most important markets in the neighbouring European countries by establishing our own sales companies with our own representatives securing customer relations around the globe
Continuous growth
Building is an investment in the future, an expression of dynamics and expansion. If that what has been happening in the factories of the M�llers Group were concentrated at a single site it would be found that M�llers has been growing for decades.
Building activity has always been used to expand our business activities. This was true in the parent works in Beckum where several expansion stages, most recently to a working area of 40,000 m�, were closely connected to extensions of the M�llers product range. This was true at Greif-Velox in L�beck where further space was created by the construction of new production halls for large bagging plants.
A similar path as been followed by developments overseas where continuous expansion has also necessitated structural extensions.
Room for new thoughts
Five decades of continuous expansion have taught us that even first-class performance must be advertised - repeatedly - as markets change. Market communication is practised at M�llers with every available instrument; advertising, public relations work and the use of our own carefully planned media all play important roles.
But nothing can replace a conversation. The personal meeting and the conversation with potential customers which wakens their interest conveys expert knowledge secures successful sales where it matters most. Locations for personal meetings with our present and future customers are, in addition to customer visits, the international technical conferences and the symposia and conferences organized by M�llers at home and abroad as well as the globally important trade exhibitions such as Packexpo/Chicago, Upakovka/Moscow, Salon de I’Emballage/Paris, Pakex/Birmingham, Interpack/D�sseldorf and Achema/Frankfurt.
