EOSINT M 270 Laser-sintering system for the production of tooling inserts, prototype parts and end products directly in metal
EOSINT M 270 builds metal parts using Direct Metal Laser-Sintering (DMLS). The technology fuses metal powder into a solid part by melting it locally using a focussed laser beam. The parts are built up additively layer by layer. Even highly complex geometries are created directly from 3D CAD data, fully automatically, in just a few hours and without any tooling. It is a net-shape process, producing parts with high accuracy and detail resolution, good surface quality and excellent mechanical properties.
A wide variety of materials can be processed by the EOSINT M 270, ranging from light alloys via steels to super-alloys and composites. EOS has developed novel alloys especially for the DMLS process, and has also optimized and qualified standard industrial materials such as stainless steels for this machine. Further materials are continually being developed and qualified.
New Perspectives in Manufacturing with DirectPart
EOSINT M 270 is widely used to produce positive parts directly from CAD data. This application is called DirectPart. The components can be prototypes, series production parts or even spare parts. Whether the requirement is to deliver a functional metal prototype within one day, or to economically manufacture hundreds of individualized implants in bio-compatible alloy each week, EOSINT M 270 offers the solution.
Rapid and High-Performance Tooling with DirectTool
DMLS is well known as a leading technology for toolmaking, an application known as DirectTool. With its high accuracy and surface quality, EOSINT M 270 is an ideal platform for this application. The direct process eliminates tool-path generation and multiple machining processes such as EDM. Tool inserts are built overnight or even in just a few hours. Also the freedom of design can be used to optimize tool performance, for example by integrating conformal cooling channels into the tool. Increasingly, both strategies are combined to create improved performance in shorter time. DirectTool is best known for plastic injection moulding. However, the technology is also used for other tooling types including blow moulding, extrusion, die casting, sheet metal forming etc.

The EOSINT P 730 is an advancement of the EOSINT P 700, the world-wide first double-laser system for laser-sintering of plastics. It is one of the largest plastic laser-sintering systems available on the market. The EOSINT P 730 is up to 40 percent more productive compared to the EOSINT P 700 and combines increased productivity with highest part quality. IntelliScan 20, a digital scanner of the latest generation, exposes the respective layers in a so-far unknown speed and stands for highest precision. The system is ideally suited for the economic production of small series and individualised products, especially with complex geometries. At the same time it provides capacity for the fast and flexible creation of prototypes or patterns for investment and vacuum casting. Within a very short time, the machine also produces large and complex plastic products or castings. These often occur in the automotive, medical and aerospace industry.
Production of Plastic Products and Investment Casting Patterns
The EOSINT P 730 processes a wide range of materials. It generates fully functional plastic products and investment casting patterns of any complexity. The components are built layer by layer, directly from CAD data, in a single process. The technology requires no support structures. That saves time and costs. With its build volume of one metre diagonal, even large geometries are realized in just a few hours. Building larger parts horizontally significantly reduces the number of layers to be built. As a consequence the building process shortens. In addition, the quality of the resulting plastic parts or casting patterns is optimized: these can be built in one piece rather than having to be assembled. For example, the EOSINT P 730 manufactures a fuel tank with a size of 607 mm x 330 mm x 491 mm (23.9 x 13 x 19.3 in) faster than any other laser-sintering system. The tank is built in one piece and is ready for use in just 4 days. The parts are ideally suited for extensive functional tests with aggressive substances such as petrol. And for small components, EOSINT P 730 delivers convincing advantages as well: the system produces more than a thousand parts economically in a single laser-sintering process.
Excellent Integration into an Industrial Production
Due to its ergonomic peripheral devices and the high degree of automation, the EOSINT P 730 offers user-friendly handling, the optimum level of productivity as well as excellent integration into an industrial environment. The automatic powder conveying system, the unpacking and sieving station with exchangeable frame docking system as well as the powder recycling form part of the Integrated Process Chain Management (IPCM). Additional productivity is gained by the use of EOSPACE. This software guarantees an optimum utilization of the build envelope and minimizes the build height. As a consequence, turn-around times and costs decrease.

EOSINT S 750 Double laser-sintering system for the direct, tool-less production of sand cores and moulds for metal castings
The EOSINT S 750 is the only double laser-sintering system world-wide for the processing of Croning moulding material. Using the DirectCast method, the system builds cores and moulds for sand casting. Directly from CAD data, fully automatically, with a building speed of up to 2,500 cm3/h (0.09 ft3/h.) and without any tooling. Sand parts of any complexity are built layer by layer, with high accuracy, detail resolution and surface quality. The maximum part size adds up to 720 mm x 380 mm x 380 mm (28.4 x 15 x 15 in.). The resulting cores or core packages are realized with significant savings in time and costs compared to conventional technologies. Usually they also consist of less parts which are thus assembled faster and more precisely.
Innovative Production of Castings for a broad Range of Applications
DirectCast with EOSINT S 750 enables the production of castings in batch sizes that would be extremely laborious, economically unviable or even impossible to manufacture with conventional techniques. The FORMIGA P 100 represents laser-sintering in the compact class. With a build envelope of 200 mm x 250 mm x 330 mm, the FORMIGA P 100 produces plastic products from polyamide or polystyrene within a few hours and directly from CAD data. The machine is ideally suited for the economic production of small series and individualised products with complex geometry – requirements which apply among others to the medical device industry as well as for high-value consumer goods. At the same time, it provides capacity for the quick and flexible production of fully functional prototypes and patterns for plaster, investment and vacuum casting. With turnover times of less than 24 hours the FORMIGA P 100 integrates itself perfectly in a production environment that requires the highest level of flexibility. The machine offers its users several technical innovations. It has been designed to produce vertical walls with maximum surface quality. Laser Filter: The Filter with the extreme separating capacity The name ”Laser Filter“ originates from the fact that the core elements of this filtering system, the filter screens, are drilled (shot through) using laser technology, with the holes designed conically, making them self-cleaning.

Used plastic waste contains a large proportion of unwanted material and contamination. Despite complex washing and separating processes, the removal of residual contamination through the melt filtration system in the subsequent extrusion process causes huge problems, particularly in terms of economic efficiency.
Conventional melt filtering technology on the market fails to meet the demands in many cases. This is all the more so if the used plastic waste is to be used to manufacture pellets (recyclate) in film quality.
In order to perform these tasks, Erema has developed a continuous high-capacity filtering system: the EREMA LASER FILTER.
A quantuum leap in filtering capacity
When traditional cartridge filters with wire mesh screens are used, heavy contamination of the screens rapidly results in excess pressure, switching off the extruder in seconds. Using the Laser filter, a continuous filtration and thus extrusion process can be maintained for days and even weeks.
Comparisons made in the Erema’s technical centre and in many customer applications confirm the impressive capacity of the new filtering system, e.g. in filtering plastic melt from washed post-consumer plastic waste.

ERLENBACH ENGINEERING.DE-DUSTING UNIT The feeding of the Erlenbach de-dusting system is carried out continually using the mill blower. Specially designed turbulence strips create a tangential turbulence as well as transporting the grains axially against a screen mesh. The dust particles are blown through the screen mesh into the downstream hose filter unit using air from the blower and are filled in special dust sacks. The coarse grains are directed through a separate outlet to a conveyor blower from where the material is then carried to the next processing unit.

Tooth for Tooth New tool system allows for gear cutting on CNC lathes without rechucking.
Precise gear cutting doesn’t come cheap. Until now it has been necessary to rechuck workpieces numerous times or use costly CNC lathes.
This need not be the case: EWS design engineers have developed, in collaboration with Gildemeister, a solution that allows gear-cutting tools to be used with conventional lathes. The new technique enables the cutter head to rotate steplessly all the way around the shaft, thus eliminating the need for costly B axes on the machine and allowing the entire gear-cutting process to be realized without rechucking.

Transfer Lines Transfer lines are suitable for high volume production. If there are requirements for limited part flexibility, a shorter cycle time and if space is an issue, then these requirements can be met. Transfer lines are also indispensible for heavy-duty metal cutting or if high precision machining has to be performed.
The individual machining sequences are divided into several stations arranged in one line (sequential) and connected with a rigid transport system. The single stations can only perform one machining operation as previously defined. The downtime of one station causes the whole line to come to a halt and thus the output goes down to zero.
Transfer lines systems are constructed from modular units. This design ensures that the Transfer lines can be installed quickly in their final position. The individual stations are so-called "hook" stations, and this enables the line to be started up one station at a time.
The main advantages of the standardization of the slide units are:
smaller stocks of spare parts
greater flexibility in conversions
simplified maintenance and overhaul
The modular slide units can be single-axis, cross-slide, or rotating-axis units. As line extensions we can also offer high-speed triple-axis units with moving speeds up to 40 m/min; these are used with a motor spindle or a 6-spindle revolver head.
The main pipes as well as the electric power rails and the principal cable duct run via the electrical cabinet. The single-sided installation allows good access from the op-posite (free) side for maintenance and other purposes.
The control routes are short because of the control plates on the jigs.
Within the Transfer lines, the loading and unloading section forms an important functional unit together with the work-piece transporting section, which is designed as stroke-step transport and Plant mechanically. It works from a slide unit with a ball-thread drive from a servomotor.
The shavings are removed in the central section or under the floor.

Spezielle Ausrüstung zur Verarbeitung von Wasserlacken Beim Verarbeiten von Wasserlacken müssen Pumpe und Lackbehälter isoliert in einer "Isolierblase" untergebracht sein. Dieses sehr kompakte Gehäuse kann ganz in der Nähe der Spritzkabine installiert werden. Da es mit einer breiten Schiebetür versehen ist, kann der Lackierer schnell und einfach Farbwechsel oder Druckveränderungen vornehmen.
Der Hochspannungserzeuger ist in der Isolierblase montiert und lädt den gesamten Farbbehälter inkl. Pumpe auf (Innenaufladung). Dadurch ist die Pistole extrem leicht und es wird kein Kabel zur Pistole benötigt. Durch den einzigartig hochflexiblen Materialschlauch ist das arbeiten mit der Pistole auch in engen Räumen, z.B. in der Flugzeugindustrie, dem Fahrzeugbau oder Maschinenbau.
Ein eingebautes Sicherheitssystem sorgt dafür, das beim loslassen des Abzugshebels und beim öffnen der Schiebetür die Stromzufuhr zum Hochspannungserzeuger gestoppt wird und gleichzeitig Pumpe und Behälter geerdet werden.

Thanks to the touch2move drive technology, transporting heavy goods is not only more efficient, but also significantly safer. Simply by touching the sensor handle, the trolley “obeys” the operator's natural movements, and automatically adapts to his/her walking speed.
