The Company, owned and managed by the Balestrini family, has been run over the years according to Balestrini's own principles: honesty, professionalism and keeping constantly up-to-date.
All the staff, from the directors to the workers, work in an atmosphere of active co-operation, utilising the most innovative techniques in a modern and comfortable environment.
Balestrini today is an organised and dynamic Company that focuses its attention on the future, ready for the challenges of the third millennium.
The participation in international trade fairs as well as the meeting with clientele having the most diverse needs have enabled the Company to achieve significant technical and commercial growth over the years, so much so that today Balestrini products are sold in more than 100 countries and the sales network in more than 40 Nations is both organised and efficient.
Renzo Balestrini set up the Company in 1954, and decided the Company's business activity was to specialise itself in particular sectors.
The founder began by manufacturing circular blade and sliding-carriage tenoning machines, but soon in 1956 his innovative mind gave birth to the first patent and in 1959 this led him to realise the machine that launched the Company's activity on markets throughout the world. It was the 2TAO tenoning machine, the first round-end tenoning machine to work in an automatic cycle, with two work-tables capable of producing horizontal, vertical tenons cut with compound angles.
The machine represented a true revolution for those times; indeed, 40 years later this type of machine, consequently updated according to modern techniques (today it is called PICO), remains an essential cutting-edge machine tool for every chair-producing factory in any part of the world.
Each ten-year period in the life of the Balestrini Company has been distinguished by the birth of machines that have contributed to innovate the production processes for chairs: the '50s and '60s that marked the creation of the simplest machines, were followed by the '70s, during which high production machines made their first appearance. The '80s witnessed the introduction of electronics in automation and the realisation of numerical control positioning systems. And from the very start the '90s marked a maturing of more complex numerical control products based on multiple-axis interpolation, like the double-sided CNC profile shapers/sanders and the CNC machining centers.
Even the simplest models "invented" during the '50s and '60s are included in the process of continuous technical upgrading; in fact, more versatile, safer and more reliable new models have replaced them in the '90s, and still represent reference points on the global market.
