 | Drag-finishing units In the drag-finishing process the workpieces are mounted on special workpiece holders. These are dragged in a circular motion at high speed through a container filled with grinding or polishing media. The high-speed motion creates high contact pressures between the workpieces and the media, producing perfect results in a very short time in the form of high-precision rounding of the edges or a high-lustre finish in a quality that can otherwise only be obtained through hand polishing |  | Drag-finishing units /DF 35 Series This series is equipped with 3 workpiece holders and is designed for medium-scale production runs.

Speed control via frequency inverter |  | Fully automatic DF-Tools The DF-6 Automation is a fully automatic drag finishing machine for the deburring, edge-rounding and polishing of cutting tools. The workpieces are loaded and unloaded by means of a 6-axis Fanuc robot with a reach of 890 mm.
Changeover time is considerably reduced by storing 36 workpieces in a temporary storage area. In addition, the storage area incorporates predefined workpiece positions, for example for clamping thread-cutting taps along the whole length of the shaft.
A sensor monitors the changeover process in order to prevent malfunctions caused for example by incorrectly mounted chucks. The main functions are monitored and any faults that occur are indicated in the display.
|  | The disc finishing process The centrifugal disc finishing process is a vibratory grinding process and was developed for the surface treatment of workpieces. The process is carried out in a cylindrical container which is open at the top and the bottom of which consists of a disc separated from the container wall by a gap. During operation, the workpieces and the grinding or polishing media in which they are immersed rotate at a high speed, creating a toroidal effect.
The differing centrifugal forces acting on the workpieces and the media provide a very intensive finishing process which can be 20 times more effective than systems such as traditional vibrators.
In the wet finishing process a water/compound mixture constantly flows in and out, carrying away the particles of dirt giving the workpieces a clean, corrosion-free surface finish.
