The company with head quaters in Eschelbronn near Heidelberg was founded 1960. Today we are technology and market leader in the high end market of sanding and deburring equipment.Some of the most interesting milestones in our history are listed below:
1960
Development of a polishing machine for polyester laquered surfaces due ti requests of the local Woodworking industry.
1962
Beginning with the design and production of Sanding machines. The first machine that brought the break-through was a laquer sanding machine for laquering lines. This machine was build over 2500 times.
1963

1968
Introduction of the cross sanding technology with a cross sanding unit for the presanding and longitudinal units for the fine sanding.
1979
Design of the electronically controlled pressure beam.
1993
Design of the Duplex-System. This system incorporates two electronically controlled pressure beams in one wide belt.
1993
Maschinenfabrik Paul ERNST is beeing awarded with the innovation price of the state of Baden-Württemberg
1998
ERNST developes the first sanding machine with touch-screen interface. Enabling employees without special skills to work with a high tech sading machine.
1999
Start of the building kit deburring series. Enabling ERNST to build the machines exactly to the customers application and needs.
2000
Developement of the automatic tool changing device for the deburring machines
2001
The size of the demo area is being doubled due to the huge amount of demonstrations that are beeing done for the customers.
2002
Founding of the company subsidiary ERNST-Schweiz GmbH to extend market leadership and to strengthen contact to our Swiss customers. Over all about 70 ERNST-sheet metal deburrings-Maschinen have been sold to Switzerland yet.
2003
Design and installation of a heavy duty 4 head veneer sanding machine in a laquering line for feed speeds of 50 m/min. Running in a 3 shift a day, 19 shift per week operation.
2004
Developement of a oxide-cleaner, that is capable to remove the oxide on laser cut parts, up to 25 mm thick.
