Karl H. Bartels GmbH was founded 1948 in Hamburg - Schenefeld by Karl Heinrich Bartels. At the beginning in a small workshop only simple manual transporting devices were being produced. In the course of the years Karl Heinrich grew into becoming a specialist of transporting and storing techniques. Due to our persisting will to innovate and our customer orientation, we have become one of the leading companies in this field.
Our core competence lays clearly in custom design. There is no rack we cannot build nor is there a rack we cannot deliver from our selected commercial products.
Due to our flexibility and long years of experience, we are in the position to find fast und uncomplicated solutions to meet any kind of customers demand. From the construction of a tricky storage system, space saving storing racks for heavy and long goods up to conversion of standard commercial products - we offer you a solution for almost anything!

Another milestone to customer's proximity has been achieved after moving to the outskirts of Hamburg in a new office building and production site. First of all, you as a customer gain, not least because of optimising our production we lower costs and can make reasonable prices for you!

Safe - machine and load are supported on at least three steps while transporting on stairs. Avoids strenuous counterbalancing for the person operating.
Cost saving - one or two persons only needed to handle the job which required 2 - 4 persons up to now - also in half the time and with less effort.
Humane - avoids backaches and pains
Fast - up the stairs in approx. 1 minute, down even faster.
Universal - even long loads are no problem, because you can take off the upper handle of the CU 406/606.
Excellent balancing - because the climber coolie runs on two crawlers.
Easy - The control switch is on a magnet plate and therefore it can be attached on any part of the frame or even be used as a manual control unit.
Continuous operation from flat surfaces on to the stairs and the other way around is possible without any problem.
Automatically hinged supporting wheels stay up on the frame while climbing stairs. (extra charge - CU 133).
