A FAMILY TRADITION Innovation backed by tradition and driven by a visionary pioneering spirit LIECHTI has been active in mechanical engineering since 1865. The company's first machine tools were built in 1920. In the 60s and 70s, LIECHTI manufactured multispindle milling machines, mainly for the US aviation industry. Today, LIECHTI produces standard and custom-specific machining centers especially for the aerospace and the power generation industry.
OUR VISION LIECHTI ENGINEERING AG is the leading brand for programming and machining solutions for the manufacturing of complex shaped precision parts in tough to machine materials. It is a customer driven organisation, operating world-wide and providing standard and custom products with the highest economical benefit to the customer. Our engineering, production and service capabilities are effective and efficient and generate a encouraging environment for our employees.
LIECHTI ENGINEERING AG in Langnau / Switzerland has been involved in the manufacture of high-production machine tools since the 60s. Based in Switzerland’s Emmental region, LIECHTI was producing typical Swiss lathes back as far as 1926
Since 1983, LIECHTI ENGINEERING AG has focused on the production of single and multi-spindle milling systems for high speed machining complex curved surfaces such as turbine blades, impellers and blisks (bladed disks) for engine units and gas/steam turbines. The machine concept allows ultra dynamic 5-axis machining. The LIECHTI machines are extremely agile in order to perform extreme fast curvature changes.
The company has concentrated its attention on this special area for the past 20 years and is now one of the market leaders in this technology segment. The LIECHTI TURBOMILL, the first 5-axis milling system for medium-sized turbine components, was developed in 1994, for instance. A large number of these machines have been produced since then, with 25 units operating successfully at Siemens alone.
A further specialization developed by LIECHTI in 1997 was the TURBOBLISK, a high-production 6-axis milling machining system for the efficient production of medium to large blisks in one setup.
