SMIWRAP S.p.A. has taken over the running of the pre-existing Cartiere Cima paper mill, in operation for almost a century. SMIWRAP industrial complex rises on a 45,000 sq. m (485,357 sq. ft) area, of which 28,000 sq. m (320,000 sq. ft) are occupied by production plants and warehouses.
SMIWRAP core business is the manufacture and the marketing of high-quality papers destined to the packaging of food products, to the textile and plastic laminate industry and to other applications.
At present, SMIWRAP industrial structure is based on: two continuous machines featuring surface treatment facilities; an off-line supercalender; a line producing parchment paper. The manufacturing plant is completed with two PE-coating machines, a rewinder dedicated to the treatment of semi-finished products and a preparation department equipped with two rewinders and a packaging machine.
SMIWRAP factories have a production capacity of over 30,000 tons/year
 | A WIDE RANGE OF PAPERS FOR FOOD PACKAGING SMIWRAP product range includes all of the following paper kinds:
1) supercalendered papers, for the production of baking moulds used to rise and bake cakes, biscuits and the Italian “panettone”; for the wrapping of ice-creams, candies and chocolate; for the production of sugar bags and gift papers;
2) “greaseproof” papers, to produce baking cups for snacks and pastries; to wrap butter, mozzarella cheese and other diary products; also used as baking paper;
3) machine-finished papers, for the flexible packaging of fresh food, such as meat, ham, cheese, vegetable, etc.

Paper produced with pure bleached pulps with a great resistance to high and low temperatures.
Stuff is well refined in order to obtain a paper support dense and air-resistant. The base paper is 2/side silicon coated directly on the machine in order to make paper anti-adherent.
This grade of paper can resist to temperatures up to 200° C and can be used more than once in industrial employment
Type of uses: Baking and freezing paper. Suitable to bake in conventional and microwave ovens.
Food contact: According to C.E. directives.
Weight in gsm: 41 - 45 - 50 gr/m2

Paper suitable to the direct foodstuff contact produced with bleached pulps. Bleached with OBA (Optical Bleaching Agents).
Great wet tensile strength.
PE coated.
Great for printing purposes.
Type of uses: Paper suitable for flexible packaging of ham, meat, dairy products.
Food contact: According to C.E. directives.
Weight in gsm: 45+10 - 60+10 gr/m2

Coloured paper produced with unbleached virgin pulps treated with sulphate and sulphite, without chemical additives.
Grease resistant, completely natural and suitable to the direct foodstuff contact.
Excellent for printing purposes.
Type of uses: Production of microwaves cushions for cakes and chocolates. 60 and 95 gsm are suitable to the production of baking moulds used to rise and bake cakes.
Food contact: According to C.E. directives.
Weight in gsm: 43 - 45 - 60 - 95 gr/m2
