Polska (the Times) says that the announcement will be made at a press conference, Friday, when Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski will lay out a timetable for economic reforms, including changes to the pension system and adoption of the euro. The government had wanted to negotiate a date to join the ERM-2 system - a prerequisite of adopting the euro - last year and was talking to the European Central bank in May. But the extent of the global finance crisis scupper red the plans of a quick adoption of the euro - 20011 or 2012 was mentioned. But the government seems ready to try and again and will announce details of target dates and finance plans going forward on Friday when a radical plan to reform the pension system will also be revealed.
