The French company, Nidaplast Waters, inventor and European leader with its rainwater storage system using modular plastic blocks, presents for the first time in Germany its rainwater storage and regulation range at the IFAT trade show. This system will be marketed in Germany by Eternit - Flachdach, a company specializing in equipment for flat roofs.

The benefits of the Nidaplast system The system is made up of large (1.5 m3) polypropylene honeycomb blocks that are easy to cut to shape and simple to install with no attachment clips. Highly resistant to compression, the system can be installed under roads. Impurities don’t penetrate through the blocks, making this the only “clean” system on the market, and so rendering unnecessary their cleaning and inspection (an innovation deriving from the original nidaplast patent and the specific characteristics of the honeycomb structure). It remains possible, all the same, to inspect and clean the drains, which is a major advantage considering the various types of pollutant that can be carried in rainwater (particles, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, etc.) and which can have a damaging effect on soils and aquatic environments. Produced using recycled polypropylene, the Nidaplast products are in turn recyclable, their use being in line with the sustainable development approach that has been in place for some years at Nidaplast (ISO 14001). “We have produced a cost-effective, flexible and easy-to-implement system for optimum use of urban space availability, deploying large blocks under roads, land or on rooftops,” explains Richard Filippi.
Based in Thiant, northern France, Nidaplast is a subsidiary of the international group Etex. A leader in the extruded polypropylene honeycomb market, Nidaplast operates three divisions: Nidaplast Waters (rainwater management), Nidaplast Eco-Garden (landscaping) and Nidaplast Composites (structural sandwich panel cores for building and industrial applications). Environmental concerns are a priority for Nidaplast, which holds the ISO 140001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications. |
