 | Anson Celebrates Sweet Success of Bakery Range Anson Celebrates Sweet Success of Bakery Range
10/06/2006 - Anson, the leading supplier of plastic food packaging, has expanded its popular range of Off The Shelf bakery packs to meet the rapidly growing food service and convenience market sectors.
The range now includes standard containers for a cake slice and gateau slice (both with the option of a folding fork), a single clair pack and three sizes of cookie tub shallow, medium and deep.
Customers looking for a unique pack can also benefit from Ansons bespoke service which handles projects from conception to completion, enabling exciting ideas to be transformed into eye-catching packs.
Steve Campbell, Anson Business Manager Standards, said: With the growing demand for food on-the-go offerings in the foodservice and convenience markets, we are seeing a huge increase in single portion packs. Not only do these display the bakery products attractively but they also keep the contents in good condition and are easy for people to take back to their offices. With the added option of a folding fork, there is no need for additional cutlery.
Cookie tubs are also a popular item, especially in supermarkets where customers can select their own products before paying at the checkout
| | Anson Fills Demand For Biodegradable Sandwich Packs Anson, the leading supplier of plastic food packaging, is first in the field to introduce the use of an environmentally-friendly material - PLA (polylactive acrylic) - for its popular sandwich wedge range.
In line with its environmental policy as a responsible supplier, and driven by customer demand, Anson has been undertaking trials on different polymers as alternatives to existing oil-based versions. The new biodegradable wedges are made from PLA, a polymer produced from lactic acid that derives from dextrose obtained from corn starch.
The initiative is already receiving widespread market interest, with food packaging provider Tri-Star, trialling the PLA sandwich wedges for its customer Daily Bread which supplies 85 million sandwiches, 364 days of the year.
Andrew Osborne-Smith, Anson Managing Director said: As a company, we are very conscious of the need to develop packaging from renewable sources and believe that PLA is an excellent alternative, helping us to achieve this.
We have devoted a great deal of resource to developing it and are now focusing on further projects to use it in a wider range of products such as salad packs and dessert bowls in the near future.
The new material is strong, lightweight and, in the right conditions, will biodegrade in just weeks. PLA fulfils all the criteria for sustainability, as being made from maize, it is a natural source that is renewed annually.
It is envisaged that Anson will fully launch the PLA range of products late 2006.
| | Anson goes large on stackability with Flat Topped Baguette B Anson goes large on stackability with Flat Topped Baguette Box Anson, the leading supplier of plastic food packaging, has responded to a new product development call from the foodservice, supermarket and convenience sectors for improved functionality and performance for its market-leading baguette range.
Anson, the leading supplier of plastic food packaging, has responded to a new product development call from the foodservice, supermarket and convenience sectors for improved functionality and performance for its market-leading baguette range.
Made from recyclable PET, the company has launched a new trio of Flat Topped Baguette Boxes (7, 9 and 12 inch) to add to its existing curved topped range. It is part of the newly extended rolls, baguettes and bagels range.
The flat designed, re-closable lid with its clean square lines offers a number of distinctive benefits to the food sector. It means that, if desired, packs can be stacked to minimise on-shelf space, provide high visibility of product and a clear surface for labelling.
Steve Campbell, Ansons Business Manager, Standards, explains: Anson is moving towards a universal pack look within the various ranges we offer based on cleaner and more simple lines. However, we are keeping faithful to the top selling lines that our clients know and love including our curved topped baguette range.
The new flat topped boxes have been designed as a result of the many customer calls for products that stack neatly. Baguettes are bulky by nature and need proper protection which these boxes provide. The added bonus is they can now be displayed optimally at the point of sale where space is always a premium.
It really is a case of us continuing to think outside of the box our customers demand the very best and we are only too happy to deliver these clearly inspired ideas.
The radical change in lifestyle eating is continuing in the UK. Snacking and light salads have replaced hot lunches - and sandwiches, baguettes, bagels and filled rolls are now the nations favourite lunchtime food.
Ansons newly emerging and fast-selling snack product selection now includes sandwich wedges; rolls, baguettes and bagel packs; salad packs; and a Tortilla and Bakery range.
| | Anson Shakes up the Salad Mix! Anson shakes up the salad mix with complete cafe culture range.
Anson, the leading supplier of plastic food packaging, now has a
complete family range of sumptuous salad packs for the foodservice, supermarket and convenience retail sectors. The latest launches have been designed suit the new more continental caf culture style of lunching and snacking that is sweeping the UK.
There is now a wide choice of both value and premium packs comprising the range. For simple but cost-effective salad packs Anson recommends its top-selling Fresco and Food Display Boxes, while for more premium salad mixes the Twisty and Continental options are perfect. These ranges are available in a variety of size options ranging from 250cc to 1000cc. All are designed with the varying needs of the customer in mind, some are compartmentalised and many include salad forks.
The Continental range is the latest addition to the range allowing optimum display of the product. It is available with a black or clear base and a clear detachable lid. Three sizes are on offer: small 375cc, medium 500cc and large 750cc.
The flat design of the lid delivers two clear benefits. It means that packs can be stacked to maximise on-shelf space and it provides a clear surface for labelling, allowing for excellent visibility. The lid also has an insert to allow for the salad fork and comes with anti misting as standard. Steve Campbell, Ansons Business Manager Standards, said: Salad consumption is clearly on the increase as more and more people are opting for this as their preferred healthy choice for food on the go. Whether the need is for prepared salads available at the sandwich fixture or for bulkier side salads to accompany quick and easy meals, we now have a complete product family on offer.
Our latest lines have been added to keep up with the irresistible salad combinations on offer. As the mix becomes more sophisticated, the packaging needs to be developed to ensure that the on-shelf offer is too tempting to resist. Perfect visibility sells salads and it is our job to make sure that the snack or light lunch retains its home or deli-made look. Our packs work hard to enhance the good looks of the salads they carry.
Anson salad pack sales are continuing to rise year on year. The company is selling larger volumes over a longer period of time. There is now demand all year around with the obvious mid-summer peak generated by increasing numbers of Al Fresco diners.
