Temperature transmitter with excellent response time
Temperature transmitter with excellent response time
Compact 6 mm temperature sensor for tanks and pipes.
Compact 6 mm temperature sensor for tanks and pipes. * Measuring range of -10...150 °C. * Precision of 0.15 K at 60 °C. * Excellent response time: T05 = 1.2 s or T09 = 3.5 s. * Flexible installation depths. * Mounting via common clamp fittings. One unit – a wide range of options The TA type temperature sensor is a universal transmitter with a 4...20 mA current output. Due to a Pt1000 sensor element of precision class A and factory calibration, the achieved precision is 0.15 K at 60 °C. Using ifm’s tried-and-testedfilm technology the unit also features excellent response times. So this sensor is suited for all highly precise and rapid processes.

ifm introduces the new SM Series Magmeter – a magnetic inductive flow meter – designed to reliably detect the flow rate of conductive media up to six gallons per minute.
• SM Magmeter’s stainless steel, mechanically-robust design is mounted in-line providing a compact, low-profile installation for process control.
• Display includes a 4-digit numeric display with eight integrated LEDs that together indicate the flow rate (gal/min or l/min), total volume (gallons or liters), and temperature (°F or °C) of all conductive media.
• Simple pushbutton programming quickly establishes application parameters.
• The Magmeter can be setup to provide a switching output, analog output and pulsed output.
• High accuracy with a response time of less than 0.15 seconds and a repeatability of ±0.2%.
• Electrical connection is made through an M12 connector.
Typical applications include:
• Flow and temperature monitoring through heat exchangers
• Monitoring cooling water on welding machines
• Batching applications
• Totalize flow of process water
• Pump run dry protection
• Guard welding equipment against loss of cooling water
Operating Principle: Faraday's Law
The principle of operation of the flow meter is based upon Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction to detect the flow velocity of an electronically conducting fluid through a defined pipe diameter. Faraday’s Law states that the voltage induced across any conductor as it moves at right angles through a magnetic field is proportional to the velocity of that conductor.
