In 1939, the company was founded by Edmund Dietrich, engineer, Martin Heitze, technician, and Ernst Zimmermann, merchant.
In 1951 Helmut Honig, engineer, joint the company as limited partner and managing director.
At this time, Deuma started to produce turning and tiling positioners, mostly for the welding of tanks.
In the following years, the range of products grew constantly. Standard machines, such as turning rolls, turning and tilting positioners, Welding Manipulators for various requirements were designed. Deuma developed and built in particular, heavy duty machines for load capacity of more than 1000 ton. In addition, special machines for pipe production as well as tank and vessel fabrication were developed.
At the beginning of the 80ies, Deuma was one of the first companies to build complete robotic systems for welding applications. Nowadays Deuma presents itself as a lean organisation turning over 10 Million EUR per year with a staff of approx. 50 people. With this crew Deuma is in a position to offer highly specialized machines and system solutions.

Decades of experience as well as constant further development distinguish the sophisticated DEUMA Beam Welding Machines. Our production program ranges from low cost machines, in gantry-type design, up to continuous double welding lines with automated turn-over system – tailor-made to suit the specific requirement of our customers. The equipment is capable of welding I-beams of up to 20 m in lengths and more than 4 m web height.
Special travelling assembly units are provided which delete the necessity of previous tack-welding of the beams. Depending on the chosen design, both flanges and the web can be loaded at the same time and completely SAW or MAG welded. The continuous beam welding machines are equipped with straightening units which correct any distortion on the beams caused by the welding process.
In addition, our range includes beam welding machines capable of handling and welding tapered beams

The Faceplates are made from steel. |  | DEUMA Panel (Membran Wall) Welding and Bending Machines Deuma produces complete production lines, including calibration machines, panel welders, tube-to-tube welding machines, pipe ends milling machines as well as panel (membrane wall) bending machines and transport systems. We can supply either turnkey production lines or individual machines, such as the continuous welding machine which can be equipped with two, four or six welding heads.
|  | DEUMA Robotic Systems As early as in 1982 Deuma has delivered the first robotic equipment for Welding Applications and counts as such amongst the pioneers as far as robotic techniques are concerned. Robots of well known manufacturers are being integrated into our production lines. The entire periphery – and in particular positioning equipment, gantries, carriages, clamping systems and grippers are made in-house. As such we are in a position to delivery turn-key production lines, starting from small compact cells up to large gantries for heavy machine building industry.
