HOMBAK supplies machines, conveyors, bins and grading devices for particle-, board-, MDF- and OSB-industry: - drum flakers, drum chipper - vibrating troughs, all conveyors - stocker feeders and metering bins - disk graders, drum- and gyratory-screens for saw mills: butt end equalizers
Way back in 1924 the Company made its first appearance on the timber marketplace – and it was a strong one right from the first flake: The joinery machines developed and manufactured by Hombak soon earned themselves a firmly rooted reputation. In 1956 a new Hombak era began: With the production of the first flaker for the particle-board industry the Company launched another big hit and then further grinded its cutting edge to the benefit of the entire wood-processing industry. Ever since, formerly individual machines and devices have been expanded and further developed so as to form complete installations for perfect flake and chip preparation and processing. Again and again Hombak has proved a reliable and powerful partner – fit for their own and thus for your future feats.
Hombak firmly rests on its roots and has therefore never considered chipping off its trim tradition: Expanding the proven product line, also to the benefit of other branches of industry – this has always been a constant Company concern and will remain a future focus. Not only the needs of the environmental and recycling industries will be satisfied, but also the demands of the wood-based materials industry, especially of the OSB boards branch.
Hombak machines are developed by and at Hombak. They are continuously improved and manufactured to high quality standards and, what is more, they are tailor-made. The service quality rendered to you – our customer – is our biggest concern. Therefore skilled, well-qualified and committed personnel is one of the social roots on which the Company relies. Contact us, and you will see that we are anything but weird or wooden!
 | butt ends Equalisers Cutting off the butt ends on the log yard for upgraded long timber of any lengths and strong crookedness.
Supply material:
Long timber of random lengths. The minimum length is 2.5 m. There is no maximal limit to log lengths. Log diameter CHD (chest height diameter) of 200 mm up to 1,200 mm.
Mode of operation:
The long timber can be introduced either lengthwise or crosswise and is centred by means of clamping devices. The hydraulically driven cutterhead approaches the log and circles it, while a scanning device copies the log approx. 1,200 mm from the log end. All salient wood parts are cut off in one single operating cycle. After the cutting operation the reduced log is removed again - either lengthwise or crosswise. The device for pre-cut timber designated MESR KH operates via log rotation, with the cutterhead swinging toward the log’s root base.
Features:
The cutting depth is variable. If desired, the cutterhead can be equipped with a polling disk. The reduction of the butt ends considerably reduces the risk of malfunctions and resulting idle times of the following machines. | | drum chipper Range of applications
The drum chipper is designed for the production of chips, the processing of residual wood and for the working up of wood wastes.
Supply material
Round timber, residual wood and wood wastes.
Mode of operation
The machine processes the a.m. supply material both continuously and economically.
Features
Excellent chips of the highest quality leave the machine due to its large drum diameter and the screening surface equipped with additional cutter bars. Specially toothed draw-in rollers with surface armouring safeguard both high service readiness and long service life. The counter knives are designed for multilateral use and can be regrinded. | | Hammer Mill The Hammer Mill was especially designed for the reduction of recycling wood of all kind. The produced
material can be used for further preparation or for boiler fuel.
Supply material
Pallets, crates, boxes, wood scrap, wood residues, bushes, branches, industrial wood waste etc.
Mode of operation
A vibrofeeder or an apron conveyor moves the infeed material towards the machine mouth. Bulky feed
material is hydraulically, continuously guided towards the rotor. In the rotor the material is pre-broken by
impact.
Features
The Hammer Mill is a very sturdy welded construction. The machine housing is divided in several parts and
the top can be opened hydraulically for easy change of the hammers, screen and counter knife.. | | universal drum flaker The universal drum flaker allows flaking of very different types of wood in a very economical and power-saving manner.
Supply material
Logs of random lengths, cores, slabs and edgings in bundles.
Mode of operation
This type of drum flaker works discontinuously.
Features
During the flaking operation the wood is safely fixed. The cutterhead is readily accessible. As soon as the clamping wedges have been depressed, the knives can be easily removed from the cutterhead – without any additional tools. This machine has proved its worth for the production of flakes with very narrow thickness tolerances and very low percentage of fines and splinters. | |
