Circular saws for aluminium and plastic•
Berlin, 1906: In order to produce his own furniture designs, Wilhelm Altendorf built a machine saw on which the workpiece is guided over the saw blade on a sliding table – a technique that greatly simplified trimming and sizing panels. He never dreamt that with this "sliding table and edging circular saw to the Altendorf system" he would be laying the foundations of a global company. Over the course of the following century "the Altendorf" became a legend, and the company became the world market leader for sliding table saws.
Today over 400 people work for Altendorf in countries all around the world. Every year 5000 sliding table saws leave its factories in Minden, Germany and its production site set up in 1995 in the Chinese town of Qinhuangdao and the production site set up in 2006 in Blumenau, Brasil, on their way to international customers in the woodworking, metalworking and plastics processing industries. Subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, Australia and America, together with many local dealers and sales partners handle these global sales. Altendorf has now sold over 120,000 machines in more than 120 countries worldwide, and today sees it still setting the standard for sliding table saws throughout the industry.
 | F 45 ELMO The new F 45 ELMO has been fundamentally redesigned. The result is a high-tech
modular system, which handles even the most challenging technical requirements of
the saw user. The low-reflection 12” colour LCD display with touch screen
functionality is new. This display method makes for straightforward operation through
a self-explanatory, graphics-oriented approach to control. The display shows 90% of
the applications, thus cutting down on time spent navigating. The USB port for data
exchange and backup is also new. A further innovation is the crosscut-mitre fence on
the F 45 ELMO IV, which can be adjusted to any angle between 0 and 47° and has
integral length compensation.
There are two versions of the F 45 ELMO with either three or four motorised
axes (F 45 ELMO III and F 45 ELMO IV respectively). Each of these machines can be
equipped with optional extras to meet your own individual requirements.
In 2007 the jury of the International Forum Design presented its iF gold award
for outstanding product design to the F 45 ELMO.
