We started with service for the Heckert-make machines. For that purpose, former service engineers of this machine manufacturer were employed.
We permanently expanded the service sector and took over on basis of a cooperation contract the entire service for Heckert-brand machines, which were built until 1995. This cooperation let the permanently employed staff, turnover and business result steadily increase. Meanwhile UNITECH employs about 25 service engineers.
Additionally, general overhauls of machine tools are one of the UNITECH's strong pillars.

Buying the rights for the production of knee-type milling machines in 2001, the foundation stone was laid to head for own machine manufacture.
Until today, more than 200 machines have been delivered to the end customers.

Cramped for space at the former site made us deciding to construct new premises in an industrial estate in the outskirts of Chemnitz in April 2001. In December of that year we started production as well.
UNITECH decided for that site, as this place is very convenient as far as public transportation goes, direct connection to the nearby motorway A72, close neighbourhood to well known enterprises such as Siemens A&D as well as UNION Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH and invaluable pool of highly-skilled workforce in the Chemnitz region, all of which form the basis for continuous development of our company.

In order to cope with the growing demand for sales management both on national and international level, UNITECH Vertriebs GmbH was founded in 2002.
In 2003, the product line was completed with plano-milling machines in the frame of a co-operation treaty with the Spanish partner MTE as well as vertical-axis machining centres and CNC-lathes from
HARDINGE in the USA. HARDINGE is not only the world-wide biggest manufacturer of clamping tools for turning applications, but also the market and technology leader in the field of hard turning. HARDINGE integrated well known and reputable companies such as Kellenberger, Hauser Tripet Tschudin and Bridgeport into its group."
In 2004, the product range was extended with the machines from such reputable companies like UNION Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH Chemnitz.
Since 2004, UNITECH has been producing its own constructional series of cycle-controlled lathes equipped with double-prism guideways, which distinguish the machines clearly from competitive products. This constructional series includes 4 different constructional sizes and turning lengths up to 4 metres, which are on offer.
Like in 2004, UNITUBE Technologies GmbH was founded, which develops, produces and sells complex machines for finishing of tube ends.
In 2005, the process of expansion of the product portfolio was continued, too. Becoming the agent of the Italian company FAMAR covering the eastern federal states of Germany, we managed to get access to the large-batch producers, in particular, the ones in the automotive industry.
By mid of 2005, the production of cross-slide milling machines of type FW 560 was initiated. The machine was presented to the public at the EMO-show in Hannover/Germany. This machine FW 560 satisfies the needs of many customers, who have been looking for efficient solutions in machining workpieces by means of gang cutters mounted on two-side supported milling arbors.
The year 2006 stands for the beginning of partnership between UNITECH and the Italian company MCM, producer of horizontal-axis machining centres, a partner, who has specialised in four- as well as five-axes horizontal-spindle machining centres completed with pallet magazine, and in FMS (flexible manufacturing systems). MCM's circle of German customers includes such enterprises like EADS, Siemens and Liebherr. In addition, we integrated the sale of the well known moving-column machining centres of Matec into our business operations, which cover a large part of the eastern federal states of Germany.

UNITECH has evolved into supplier of complex, turn-key solutions, starting from the machine, continuing with machining technology and ending up with fixtures and tooling.

Presence on the market, permanently growing sales figures, high-value-for-money machines, excellent after-sales-service, and regular participation in exhibitions such as EMO, Metav, AMB, Intec and last but not least, mounting its own, annual in-house exhibition, UNITECH has meanwhile conquered a firm place under the well accepted machine tool suppliers in Germany, and enjoys excellent reputation among both customers and competitors.
