Today, marco has a yearly turnover of approximately 15 million Euro and employs over 100 people.
Since 1982 our engineers, technicians, designers and programmers have been creating control systems and modular products for industrial applications. We have developed a series of reliable system components for many industrial sectors. Our high quality and extremely durable ceramic drives are produced in series. Integrating our components in a customer-specific application is an important part of the service we offer.
Some typical examples of products since 1982 are ultrasonic position-measuring systems in liquids, laser-optic measurement appliances, printers for industrial applications and customer-specific solutions for the control and operation of heavy machinery. marco controllers were used to set up almost all of the test-courses for leading German car manufacturers.
Investments
After German reunification, the design department of the Hermsdorf/Thüringen ceramics plant became part of marco. The Hermsdorf branch has remained autonomous. These additional 35 employees together with ceramic technology have widened the scope of our company - not only in technical and commercial areas. Intensive teamwork based on piezoceramic technology has given birth to the product ranges actuators, sensors and valves. These product lines are being continually improved and developed. As yet, they are mainly sold in Germany, however, interest on the European and international markets is growing.Application Sectors
Our products are ideal for use in areas such as printing, hydraulic and pneumatic valves, dosing techniques, textile machines. They are designed for all sorts of tasks such as opening, closing, driving, moving, adjusting, tilting, dosing, engraving, coating, clamping, braking, locking and unlocking, snapping-in, and any other movement you can imagine. We will install a Torque block for you, activate it, and ensure that it is up and running in your system as quickly as possible.
Ceramic Drives - A Fascinating Product.
The basis of our products is our ceramic manufacture. The ceramics produce electrical tension when mechanical forces are applied. The reversal of the process causes a mechanical deformation of the ceramics. marco systems use these effects for commercial industrial solutions. The Torque Block actuator range is one of marco's patented basic modules. Systems in which they are incorporated are extremely dynamic. The construction is brilliantly simple: an active hinge ensures long-term stability as the soldering lies in the stress-free area (inert phase). Torque Blocks compensate temperature effects and allow highly accurate position control.
Actuator systems are our high precision positioning drives for precision mechanics and optics. Laser positioning mirrors with a diameter of 30 mm reach adjustments in the kHz frequency range. Machines can be made to weave, clamp and brake with Torque. Torque Blocks drive processing machines and control machinery; valves regulate gas and liquids, also as complete dosing systems.
With our ceramic air-ultrasonic techniques using non-contact technolgy, we create signals to measure distance and to determine the position of objects. marco's patented "Modular Transducer" principle allows flexibility in parameters such as frequency, beam characteristics, shape and size.
The high conversion rate of the transmitter/receiver head, short fall time, high band width have great advantages in the areas of level measuring techniques, vehicle construction and general automation. Here too, marco supplies custom-made transducer and system solutions.
Sound flows through solid bodies as mechanical pressure waves. Transmissive structure-borne vibration sensors convert the mechanical tension at frequencies from < 1 Hz to > 100 kHz linear into electric signals. marco system solutions measure and analyse the signals for subsequent processes.
Our new drive is the Torque Block. It is small, extremely fast, energy-efficient and ideal for positioning systems. It is suitable
- for all types of valves,
- for tilting mirrors, also in arrays
- for ultrasonic sensors up to 2 MHz or 12m at 40kHz
- as a stepper motor, absolute displacement, wire feed
- for your application.
With a lifespan of > 1010 load alternations, the torque drive achieves top performance with its tiny size and shows no temperature drift. It is a breakthrough in the use of ceramic drives for industrial production techniques.
