The Koch company was founded in Ihmert/ Westfalen in 1921 by the mechanical fitter Ernst Koch. At the beginning he serviced and repaired all types of wire machines for local companies.
After the second world war his sons Albrecht and Heinrich joined the company and shortly afterwards the first wire drawing machine was manufactured.
Close contacts to the wire industrie and innovative personnel paved the way for KOCH´s increasing success and the company is today one of the leading suppliers of drawing machines for the steel wire industry
KOCH employs today in Germany approx. 125 persons. The turnover amounted to abt. 35 Mio. EUR in 2005. KOCH exports approx. 80 % of the machines in more than 60 countries.
The shareholders are the Koch families (40 %), WAFIOS Maschinenfabrik AG (45%) and Morgan Construction Company, USA (15 %).
The share capital amounts to 5,2 Mio. EUR.
Today KOCH is managed by the directors Jochen Koch and Thomas Voss.
Together with WAFIOS and MORGAN CONSTRUCTION, and on account of excellent connections to other manufacturers of machines and plants for the wire industry- i.e. heat treatment lines, coating lines, pickling lines etc.- KOCH is nowadays in a position to offer complete projects for wire manufacturing (steel cord, bead wire, welding wire etc.) as well as lines for wire processing and wire treatment.
 | Coilers / Spoolers Coilers and spoolers which are destined for taking up wire are placed behind the wire processing lines. The wire is coiled up on rigid or collapsible spools, resp. deposited on baskets. The speeds are automatically adjusted to the machines placed in front. |
 | Single- block wire drawing machines Single- block wire drawing machines can be supplied in various model sizes and either with single draft or with double draft. According to purpose of utilization they are equipped with finishing capstans or with pre- drawing capstans. |
