The actively q-switched solid-state laser marker Nd:YAG provides high-contrast marking on metals, plastics, ceramics and foils. Generally, there are three different kinds of marking: For one thing, there is the possibility to create engravings or colour changes, for another thing, coatings can be skimmed by ACI-laser markers. This is practicable because these materials have high absorbability at the emitted wave length of the laser of 1064 nm. Furthermore, especially with the short-pulse lasers made by ACI Laser GmbH, physical and chemical reactions of the materials are effected positively. With this, unwanted thermal side-effects can consequently be avoided. With lasers, in active marking operation, users have the complete pulse frequency range of 1 kHz - 100 kHz available, as well, which is an absolute precondition for realising all three kinds of marking.
