EWAG (Edel-Werkzeuge AG), which translates as "Precious Tool Company", was founded in 1946 as a tungsten carbide tool manufacturer.
In order to satisfy demanding applications from Swiss watchmakers, the acknowledged "masters of precision", these tools had to be extremely precise. To obtain this level of accuracy was difficult with the grinding technology of the time and the machine tool market could not offer any appropriate solutions.
For this reason, EWAG’s founders decided to develop and build the necessary grinding machines themselves. Since that time, development of grinding technology has steadily progressed at EWAG.
The demand for highly complex cutting tools in the different branches of industry is steadily rising. The high quality tooling standards confront the customers of Ewag with the most challenging grinding tasks. Ewag with it’s wide knowledge in the field of tool grinding and re-grinding is always at their side.
