Starting with an order to the Anglo-French supersonic Concorde project, we have for more than 40 years used our technical expertise to develop sound instrumentation of high precision and quality. Our retrofit policy is a fundamental part of our business concept. Most of our instruments are of modular design. If new standards or new technology call for an update of the instrument this can easily be carried out by the factory or one of our local service centres. Hence, early customers have an instrument as modern as our newest customers.

 | Calibrators The use of sound calibrators dates back to the days when it was easier to design a stable sound calibrator than a stable sound level meter. Today, sound measuring instruments, in general, are as stable as the sound calibrators. However, measuring microphones are very delicate devices designed to fulfil very rigid specifications. This makes them vulnerable and subject to damage unless care is taken. One may therefore say that a calibrator is just as much a verification of proper operation as it is a device for re-adjustment of sensitivity of sound measuring instruments. The Norsonic selection of sound calibrators comprises three types, viz. the Nor1251, the Nor1252 and the Nor1253. The difference between them lies in their accuracy; while the Nor1251 is a class 1 calibrator and the Nor1252 is a class 2 calibrator, the Nor1253 is no less than a class L calibrator. It also satisfy all class 1 requirements! |
 | Nor117 Vehicle Noise Analyser Measurements of noise in accordance with ISO 5130 General type 1 sound and noise measurements The Norsonic Vehicle Noise Meter Nor117 is a sophisticated sound level meter designed with ISO 5130 vehicle noise measurements in mind. The Nor117 extracts the rpm directly from the sound level by use of advanced FFT and cepstrum technique. This means that your vehicle measurements can be made in a much faster and convenient way than before. The ISO 5130 requires three consecutive measurements to ensure repeatability. The Nor117 knows this and guides you through. You simply key in the rpm value and the instrument will prompt you to release throttle as soon as this value is reached. Once three valid measurements have been made, the highest will be taken and used as the valid result - a procedure in accordance with ECE Regulation No. 51.01. |
